Sadie Mae Glutz

Does [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] Glutz (aka [name_f]Susan[/name_f] atkins tha [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Manson[/name_m] murderer) put you off [name_f]Sadie[/name_f]?

No, I’ve never heard that before

No, my first association with [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] Hawkins, which lends the name a spunky feel. I would avoid the combination [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] though, because of Glutz as well as it sounding too country-cute.

Not at all, there are too many other [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] references for it to send my mind there at all - and I’m one of the few who stomached reading all of Helter Skelter and generally obsessed over the [name_m]Manson[/name_m] slayings (true crime afficionado!). She called herself [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] after the Beatles song Sexy [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] too, so it’s not even as if it was some original nickname or anything. Sexy [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is a good song!
And [name_f]Mae[/name_f] has become such a commonplace middle name that I think even the exact combo fails to harken back to the Glutz persona.

Very interesting. Thanks.

Unless you like country cute

I’ve never really heard of this before, haha. It’s a top 100 name in the US right now, and top 200 in the UK, so I doubt that’s a first association for people?

No. I have rarely heard of this name really. In girls around my age seldom and also on an mtv show lol.

I don’t think most young people would get the [name_m]Manson[/name_m] association unless they are from [name_u]California[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] first association was [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f]. ([name_f]My[/name_f] d-in-law considered using [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f] and I thought [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] would have been a cute nn.)

I think of the Beatles song mainly, never heard that association before.

[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] reminds me of the Beatles! Still very classic and cute! I’m a teacher and there is a very sweet girl named [name_f]Sadie[/name_f].

why do you keep posting about how horrible the name [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is? If you hate it so much stop talking about it

Never heard of her–I just have the [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] Hawkins reference. I’m not a big fan of it as a formal name, but [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] is tolerable as a nn for [name_f]Sarah[/name_f].

I don’t have any references for [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] (I’m European), and I love the name. Though with your last name, I’d call her [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a term of endearment, and formally round out the middle like this:

[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Mariel[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Maribel[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalen[/name_f] Glutz
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Martha[/name_f] Glutz (I like this one!)
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Martina[/name_f] Glutz

and other “Ma…” middles

No. I didn’t know [name_f]Susan[/name_f] Atkins ever went by [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] Glutz (or the other way around). For what it’s worth I also wouldn’t have been able to tell you who [name_f]Susan[/name_f] Atkins is/was.
