Salem, Poe or Mars?

Which name would you consider the most ‘useable’ as a first? I would pair it with a longer and more traditional middle ie. [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], etc.

I love both [name_u]Poe[/name_u] and [name_u]Salem[/name_u]! [name_u]Poe[/name_u]/Salem [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] is gorgeous!

Definitely [name_u]Mars[/name_u]! I see it as a first name much more so than [name_u]Salem[/name_u] or [name_u]Poe[/name_u]. [name_u]Salem[/name_u] is much too connected to the [name_u]Salem[/name_u] Witch Trials to me and whilst I love [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u], [name_u]Poe[/name_u] seems a bit flimsy to me as a first name.

I like all three but I voted for [name_u]Mars[/name_u] because [name_u]Mars[/name_u] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] or [name_u]Mars[/name_u] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] sounds awesome.

As someone who lives in a [name_u]Salem[/name_u], I’m honestly not a fan of that one as a human name.

Poe makes me think of [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] [name_m]Allen[/name_m] [name_u]Poe[/name_u], Moreso than [name_m]Edgar[/name_m], to the point that I wouldn’t use it either. He wrote great stories but isn’t someone I would want to name a child after for other reasons.

I do quite like [name_u]Mars[/name_u] though!

I think that [name_u]Poe[/name_u] feels more established because of the [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars character! Nothing makes people forget other connections (in this case the [name_m]Edgar[/name_m] one) then having a new connection. For me [name_u]Salem[/name_u] is very [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] the Teenage Witch so still very Witchy although I like it as a middle name! [name_u]Mars[/name_u] might have some teasing about the planet, but makes me think of [name_u]Mars[/name_u] Bars and of [name_m]Roman[/name_m] Gods!

I find these all totally usable, personally. I voted for [name_u]Salem[/name_u]. [name_u]Poe[/name_u] is my second favorite, but I like all three names well enough.

I picked [name_u]Salem[/name_u] because it’s usable and I like it. [name_u]Poe[/name_u] is usable but I don’t like it personally, and I like [name_u]Mars[/name_u] but it doesn’t seem usable to me.

All three are usable but I love [name_u]Mars[/name_u]. [name_u]Poe[/name_u] would be my second choice.

Mars!

As a [name_m]German[/name_m] speaker, I can’t quite wrap my head around [name_u]Poe[/name_u] as a name ([name_u]Po[/name_u] hasn’t got a great meaning in [name_m]German[/name_m]), and [name_u]Salem[/name_u] makes me think of the witch trials, unfortunately. I feel like I could get over that though, so [name_u]Salem[/name_u] would be my second choice. I do think it’s a cool name.
