Is this name too 80s? We’re having an awful time! DH also likes [name]Addison[/name], [name]Brooke[/name], [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name]. Oh yeah…we’re having her on Friday! Eek!

I personally think it is a bit dated, but I can’t say to which decade exactly. You have [name]Samantha[/name] from Bewitched in the 1960s and 1970s, but then you have the many [name]Samantha[/name]'s of the 1990s…

As for the names that DH likes - [name]Addison[/name], [name]Brooke[/name], [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name] - they are all rather popular. [name]Do[/name] you not like them? [name]Addison[/name] and [name]Brooke[/name] have a unisex, yet feminine, feel, while [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name] have an Italian, very feminine feel. Which way are you leaning, and what is the last name?

[name]EDIT[/name]: So, if [name]Isabella[/name] is daughter #1, it only seems fitting to go with an equally frilly and feminine name for daughter #2. Thus, I direct your attention to the “Names like [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name]” section of this post…

Names like [name]Juliana[/name] and [name]Luciana[/name]:

Also, [name]Adabella[/name] - it means “lovely”…

Names like [name]Addison[/name] and [name]Brooke[/name], for a Middle Name:

[name]Yule[/name] - “of Christmastime”!

What is [name]Isabella[/name]'s middle name?

I [name]LOVE[/name] jocelyn but of course, he doesn’t. The ones he likes are all okay, but nothing jumps out at me, ykwim? He likes [name]Angelina[/name], but w the nn [name]Angie[/name], which I hate. :frowning: last name is Patell and sibs are [name]Anthony[/name], [name]Rocco[/name] and [name]Isabella[/name].

I have to have something w a cute nn…DD is [name]Izzy[/name]. Thanks!

I also like [name]Natalia[/name]…he doesn’t. This babys name will be [name]Elizabeth[/name] (family name.). Isabellas full name is [name]Isabella[/name] [name]Arliene[/name] [name]Maria[/name]. Mns have personal meanings.

Oh, right! I remember you now! I’m sorry!

So, [name]Charlotte[/name] ([name]Carly[/name]) is out of the picture? Okay, let me see what I can do. With the middle name [name]Elizabeth[/name] - a lovely and elegant classic, by the way - I think her name shouldn’t end in an A…

[name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “Adri”
[name]Amalie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Ami[/name]” “[name]LiLi[/name]”
[name]Beatriz[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Bea[/name]”
[name]Carmen[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Cari[/name]” “[name]Mena[/name]”
[name]Caroline[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Carrie[/name]” “[name]Cara[/name]”
[name]Felicity[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Lissie[/name]”
[name]Frances[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Frankie[/name]”
[name]Lilac[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Lila[/name]”
[name]Magdalene[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Maggie[/name]” “[name]Meg[/name]” “[name]Lena[/name]” “[name]Leni[/name]”
[name]Verity[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Vera[/name]”
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Vivi[/name]”

My favorites with [name]Anthony[/name], [name]Rocco[/name], and [name]Isabella[/name] are [name]Carmen[/name], [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Magdalene[/name], and [name]Vivian[/name]!

Like any? I certainly hope so! I know you are starting to stress…

i like plenty of them. but every time i suggest something, DH makes “the face!” lol! i want to kick him!

it seems we have just a few to pick from, although i think i’m going to make my final play for “jocelyn” right after i give birth and they’re sewing me shut. lol!! maybe he’ll take pity on me and let me have my name! i know…that’s playing dirty… lol!

He didn’t like any of them? Really? Wow, a tough one!

Let’s try some Italian ones…

Bellini [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Belle[/name]” “[name]Bella[/name]” - weird with [name]Isabella[/name]?
[name]Emanuele[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Emme[/name]”
[name]Natale[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Nat[/name]” “[name]Tally[/name]”

It is very hard to find Italian girl name that don’t end in A, but I quite like [name]Emanuele[/name]. It sounds nice with your other kids’ names, and [name]Emme[/name] sounds cute with [name]Izzy[/name] (and her brothers).

Here are some Spanish ones…

[name]Aracely[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Ari[/name]” “[name]Ara[/name]” “Cely”
[name]Belen[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Belle[/name]” “[name]BeBe[/name]” “[name]Leni[/name]”
[name]Caridad[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Cari[/name]”
Castel [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Cassie[/name]”
[name]Catalin[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Cate[/name]” “[name]Catie[/name]” “[name]Lina[/name]”
[name]Christabel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Chrissy[/name]” “[name]Christa[/name]” “[name]Belle[/name]”
[name]Dolores[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Do[/name]” “[name]Dolly[/name]” “[name]Lori[/name]”
[name]Leonor[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Nora[/name]” “[name]Lee[/name]”
[name]Maribel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Mari[/name]” “[name]Marie[/name]” “[name]Belle[/name]”
[name]Marisol[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Mari[/name]” “Sola” - Better than [name]Maribel[/name]! So cute!
[name]Mercedes[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Merry[/name]”
[name]Raquel[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Rocky[/name]”
[name]Rayan[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Ray[/name]”
[name]Rosalyn[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] “[name]Rosa[/name]” “[name]Rose[/name]” “[name]Rosie[/name]” “[name]Lyn[/name]” (or [name]Rosaline[/name])

ANY? What is your name? DH?

What do you and your husband think of any of those, shoegal?

Thank you so much for your suggestions. He vetoed all of them! See my problem? Lol!

I think that [name]Samantha[/name] is very pretty, but it does feel dated to me (1908s). What about [name]Miranda[/name]?

Good luck!

[name]Lemon[/name], I was surprised to see that you listed [name]Lavender[/name], which is as vintage (or even antique) as a name can be, lumped together with trendy names like [name]Addison[/name], [name]Brooke[/name], and [name]Kimberly[/name].

I’m just curious as to if you’ve seen [name]Lavender[/name] used with siblings who have trendy/dated names!

Take care!

I am so sorry that you and DH are having such a hard time finding a name, and it sounds like he is pretty set if he wasn’t willing to consider the last 20 or so names I listed.

I love [name]Jill[/name]'s suggestion of [name]Miranda[/name]. It is absolutely perfect with [name]Anthony[/name], [name]Rocco[/name], and [name]Isabella[/name]. The only thing for me is its ending - A goes into the vowel beginning of [name]Elizabeth[/name]. [name]Miranda[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] isn’t terrible by any means, though!

However, if you want, and you and DH like [name]Miranda[/name], you could potentially use an alternate form of [name]Elizabeth[/name] (only if you like):

[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Bettina[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Beth[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Liesel[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] [name]Lisette[/name]

Actually, [name]Isabella[/name] has the exact same meaning as [name]Elizabeth[/name]!

[name]Jill[/name] - I’ve actually never seen [name]Lavender[/name] used anywhere! I considered taking it off the list - as it didn’t really seem to fit their style - but I kept it. The only reason it is linked with them is because it is another English unisex name, albeit of a very different feel…

The main reason I don’t like [name]Samantha[/name] is because I really don’t like [name]Sam[/name] for a girl. It is also very 80’s but that being said, I do have a [name]Samantha[/name] in my class (Gr. 1).

I like [name]Juliana[/name] the most from your list. I also like [name]Julianne[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name] is on my long list.

I remember some of your other posts. You have my sympathy as my husband is a nightmare when it comes to choosing names. he tends to say no to everything too! [name]Don[/name]'t worry, you will decided together- just make sure that you don’t agree to something you don’t like! [name]Luciana[/name] is beautiful. [name]Juliana[/name] v nice too. A few other suggestions:

[name]Angelica[/name] (rather than [name]Angelina[/name]) nn Jelly or [name]Angel[/name]
[name]Carlotta[/name] ([name]Charlotte[/name] v nice too)
[name]Florence[/name] (Italian link)
[name]Gianna[/name]/ [name]Giovanna[/name]

Good luck!
