I have always liked the name Emmalyn since I was younger. I never got to use it because I had a boy & I named him Justin. I also love the name Carmen & just recently came across the name Makena’lei (Muh-ken-uh-lay). I thought it was really pretty. My fiancé loves the name Vita, but if we do Vita, it would be Vita Pauline/Paulina, Vita Raine, or Vita Sienna. Preferably Vita Pauline/Paulina, so our future baby girl would have honor names from both sides of our family. It would be the same for Carmen, the middle name we would use for Carmen would be Paulina. My fiancé’s name starts with a “C”, his oldest daughter’s name starts with an “S”, & his youngest daughter’s name starts with an “M”, but his youngest daughter is not in my fiancé’s life which is by personal choice. My name starts with an “E”. When or if my fiancé ever have a baby of our own, would it matter if we choose a name that starts with an “E”, if my name already starts with an “E”? Should we choose a name that starts with a different letter?
I rule out names that sound too close (think Laura/Norah) or are derivatives (Rose/Rosalie), but initials are only an issue to me if they spell out something awful.
i dont think this matters, personally, since it is just one letter. i personally dont like when siblings have the same first initial, but since it is you the prent who will be sharing the letter, its not a problem to me! also, since his daughter is not in his life anymore, it really doesnt matter, use the name you like
