We’re expecting #3. A surprise, but I’m pretty sure it’s our third boy. Our first two are [name]Adrian[/name] and [name]Jasper[/name]. Our two frontrunners for this one are [name]August[/name] and [name]Felix[/name]. We both love [name]August[/name], but the only problem is our surname starts with T.
August T______.
[name]One[/name] of my brothers and I both grew up with a double K sound: [name]Luke[/name] K_____ [name]Brooke[/name] K____. It didn’t bother me growing up, yet I still find myself questioning my own choice.
So, in your opinion, does it really matter? Is it really more difficult to pronounce? And is it a deal breaker for a name you love?
Does the T last name just have a “t” sound? Like, would it be [name]August[/name] [name]Tinker[/name], or [name]August[/name] Thinker? If there’s just a bit of variation on sounds it’s not a problem at all. But, even with that said. If you both love the name, it doesn’t matter. It’s hard enough to pick names! Especially if you have first hand experience with it and it didn’t bother you. It wouldn’t be a deal breaker for me in the least. Actually, our expected twin girl will be [name]Cordelia[/name] A. I hadn’t even thought of that connection (there were a million other things to consider), and it doesn’t bother me.
I think it matters more if it’s the same sound IE: since I married my first name Natacha has the same “shh” sound as my last, sounds like lushton. It drives me nuts, I feel like I have a lisp
