Same sound ideas

I am absolutely head over heels bonkers in love with [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]. For me, it’s “the one”. Unfortunately my husband doesn’t like it at all. I then suggested [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]/[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] because I love those as well… again, he doesn’t like them :frowning:

Can anyone help come up with names that have the “seer” or “sair” sound at the beginning? [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] is out too. I might have to get over the idea of something similar sounding but I’m looking for a glimmer of hope!

Thanks!

These are ones that I found that sort of have a “seer” or “sair” sound:
[name_u]Sierra[/name_u]
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Suri[/name_f]
[name_f]Sapphira[/name_f]

Other ideas:
[name_f]Ciara[/name_f] and [name_f]Keira[/name_f] both have the -eer sound at the beginning, and they’re both Irish like [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f].

[name_f]Siran[/name_f] (one of my favorites)
Sirin
[name_f]Serena[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
[name_u]Seren[/name_u]

Names that sound similar to the second part of [name_f]Saoirse[/name_f]:
[name_f]Asha[/name_f]
[name_u]Sasha[/name_u]
Nirja (neer-zha)
Irja

Thanks for the suggestions! [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f] and [name_f]Sarai[/name_f] are beautiful ”

It doesn’t have the “seer” or “sair” sound, but what about [name_f]Sorcha[/name_f]? I knew a girl named this growing up, pronounced sor-sha.

[name_f]Sorcha[/name_f] is kinda neat. Thanks for the suggestion!

I’m trying to think of names that remind me of [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]/[name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]/[name_f]Saoirse[/name_f] even though they might not have that sound. I do think [name_f]Serena[/name_f] from the above suggestion is closest.

[name_u]Sheridan[/name_u]
[name_f]Sharon[/name_f] (I like this name and think it’s underused)
Sarrai
[name_f]Sahar[/name_f]
[name_u]Sasha[/name_u]
[name_f]Sansa[/name_f]
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]
[name_f]Sabrina[/name_f]
[name_f]Sparrow[/name_f]
[name_f]Samara[/name_f]
[name_f]Samira[/name_f]
[name_u]Shea[/name_u]
[name_f]Sonora[/name_f]

Maybe [name_f]Isolde[/name_f], [name_u]Blaise[/name_u], [name_f]Solene[/name_f] or [name_f]Shafira[/name_f].

Also [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] or [name_f]Isadora[/name_f].

What names does your DH like? Maybe we can find a good compromise.

My husband likes [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u], [name_u]Taylor[/name_u], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u]. I like all of those as well but none of them feel like the one. His picks are a little more “safe”, I’d say.

Some names with the same sounds:
[name_f]Seera[/name_f]
[name_f]Selah[/name_f]
[name_f]Sephira[/name_f]
[name_f]Serapia[/name_f]

Though, frankly, I like your choices better than the ones I’ve just proposed.

I think with your husband’s picks, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] and [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] are closer in feel to Saorise and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] than [name_u]Taylor[/name_u]/[name_u]Harper[/name_u], so going with those, here are a couple compromise options that to me have the magical feel of your choices with a bit more classic weight to them:
[name_f]Isolde[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Paloma[/name_f]
[name_f]Callista[/name_f]
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f]
[name_f]Allegra[/name_f]
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilith[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]

I like the suggestions of [name_f]Selah[/name_f], [name_f]Sorcha[/name_f] and [name_f]Sapphira[/name_f].

[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ziva[/name_f]
[name_f]Sala[/name_f]
[name_f]Siri[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Zaira[/name_f]
[name_f]Thisbe[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]

Ok so not exactly “seer” or “sair” sounds but maybe close enough?
