I really like both [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. I’ve known a few Claires but the one I know best is a very fun-loving, adventurous, and strong-willed teenage girl. She’s very friendly and spunky.

The only [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] I’ve met IRL was a boy, but in general I consider it a girls’ name. I would imagine a girl called [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] to be very spunky and bold, but also kind and a good shoulder to cry on. Both [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are great names and work perfectly with [name_f]Tess[/name_f], I think!

I picture [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] as an quiet girl who is smart and kind to everyone. She comes across as quiet but also has a lot of knowledge. I also feel like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] are a great sibset.

Claire feels more expected and has less of a certain personality for me. She seems more of a girly girl.

Quinn and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are both nice names, But I much prefer [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

I have good associations with both names. I’ve never known a [name_f]Claire[/name_f] personally, but I always think of [name_f]Molly[/name_f] Ringwald’s character in The Breakfast Club. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] makes me think of the character from glee, but I also had a teacher who’s first name was [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. He was a perfectly nice man, and we got along well. I personally prefer [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] over [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

Claire is pretty and classic sounding, and obviously a girls name.

Quinn is ok. Its more quirky than pretty. [name_f]My[/name_f] honest opinion on [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is that it sounds like a name a transgender person would choose for themselves. I feel like it gets mentioned all the time on these forums in this context.

I know a 14 year old girl called [name_f]Liana[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] who is just about the most adorable human in existence and I associate the name [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] with her bubbly, spunky, sweet personality. I’d definitely choose [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] over [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

I have only known one [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and one [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], both as acquaintances that I met but didn’t really get to know so i cant speak much to real associations. Both names remind me of someone bright, sophisticated and studious. [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a bit more light and airy and bubbly; [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is darker and spunkier i guess is what I picture. I think I slightly like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] a bit more as a name but I feel [name_f]Claire[/name_f] goes better with [name_f]Tess[/name_f]. I would ultimately vote for [name_f]Claire[/name_f] just based on that even though [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a bit more interesting to me. Neither name is my personal style though so its a hard thing to think about!

I don’t know any Quinns in real life, but I do know a [name_f]Claire[/name_f]. She is thoughtful, intellectual, and a bit shy. I can really picture [name_f]Claire[/name_f] on any type of person though, it’s very versatile. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a little less versatile and comes off as very studious, and I get a similar though less intense vibe from [name_f]Tess[/name_f], so [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is nice, but I prefer [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f] because they’re both very versatile and I can imagine them on a bubbly social person, an intense serious person, a thoughtful and shy person, and anyone in between :slightly_smiling_face:

The funny thing is, I am a teacher and have 3 girls in my class with these three names and they are all located alphabetically in a row on my roster. So I think all 3 names go great with each other considering I say them together everyday! I feel like I don’t hear as many Quinns if popularity matters to you. I think I would go with [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].

to me, [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounds like a middle aged woman where [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] sounds like a young child, so i prefer [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] personally.

I know a lot of Claires/Clares, and they’re all very different. As a result I don’t have a fixed idea about someone called Claire. I know bright, colourful, outgoing Claires, I know very quiet, almost shy Claires, I know Claires somewhere in the middle! They’re all intelligent and kind.

I don’t know any Quinns personally, aside from the daughter of an acquaintance who I’ve never met. I remember thinking it was a lovely name choice though when she was born. Not knowing any IRL, all my associations with the name for a girl are from fiction eg. Quinn Morgendorffer from Daria, and Quinn from Glee. But I think a Quinn could be anyone really, just as easily a quirky, artsy type as a cheerleader (or both!).

I do think Quinn is the more unexpected choice with Tess, which I love. That being said, Tess and Claire also seem like they’re made for each other!

Sorry I’m not much help … I like them both for different reasons.

I hope we can all agree that this is not a reason to discount the name [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. If anything, it shows us how well loved [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is on Nameberry and that it would be a great name choice for a child.

Claire is brilliant! I don’t know any personally, but it feels very versatile. It can fit any kind of girl, bright and studious, shy and funny, spunky and athletic, or intelligent and witty! [name_f]Claire[/name_f] could be anybody, thats what I love about her. I really love [name_f]Claire[/name_f] paired with big sister [name_f]Tess[/name_f], both have very clear and precise sounds in my opinion.

Quinn feels less clear to me, it doesn’t sound as perfect as [name_f]Claire[/name_f] does in my opinion. Again, I don’t know a [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], but it feels quite quirky and fun. I can imagine a [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] being an artsy type!

All Claires I’ve met so far have been very open, friendly and clever. The [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] I know is very inquisitive, loyal and funny. I would imagine a [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to be generally more friendly, but a [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] to be more interested and lively.

I love the name [name_f]Claire[/name_f] ! ( We have [name_f]Clara[/name_f] on our list). I have met a few [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’s. One is my neighbour, who is adventurous/ outdoorsy, passionate about animals (she’s a zoo keeper) . She is quiet and reserved but the kindest person.
The other [name_f]Claire[/name_f] I know is extremely intelligent bubbly and outgoing and super friendly. She’s also a chiropractor.
I also know a few young [name_f]Claire[/name_f]’s. They are around 7 -9 and are avid sports enthusiasts

Quinn the majority of [name_u]Quin[/name_u]’s I know are actually in there 30’s and male. However I know one girl (6) [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] who is intrinsically herself. She is a kid who I would totally classify as class clown.

i think it really would depend on what kind of ‘vibe’ you’re going for.

Claire is very sweet and classic, if you’re going for sweet and traditional [name_f]Claire[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] sound like a pair of literary sisters, i’m in the UK and neither [name_f]Tess[/name_f] or [name_f]Claire[/name_f] are particularly common here especially not for children. It is quite common in the US.

My middle name is [name_u]Clare[/name_u] (without the i), and i really like it

Quinn and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] both have a sparky, and quirky feel together not necessarily ‘classic’ but still very sweet. [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] feels a little more modern and trendy than [name_f]Claire[/name_f] but is actually not as popular!

I know 1 [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], who is a little boy so for that reason it is a male name in my head reason I am not keen on it for a girl, although I like the name.
One of my best friends is called [name_f]Claire[/name_f], she is gentle, kind and caring. A lovely classic name, and my top pick  good luck!
