I really like [name_m]Iago[/name_m], but I only connect it to the negative connotations of [name_m]Othello[/name_m]. I voted [name_m]Santiago[/name_m].

I think [name_m]Iago[/name_m] is great

My favorite is [name_m]Inigo[/name_m]! Uncommon, sleek and cool sounding with some nice nicknames.
[name_m]Iago[/name_m] is nice but I think of the not-so-great Disney character right away.
[name_m]Santiago[/name_m] is also nice but it’s just not my style.

My favourite on sound is [name_m]Iago[/name_m] (also love [name_m]Jago[/name_m]), but I’m not sure how usable it is due to [name_m]Othello[/name_m]. So my vote goes to [name_m]Inigo[/name_m]!

Isn’t [name_m]Iago[/name_m] the bird in [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m]? I vote [name_m]Santiago[/name_m]

[name_m]Inigo[/name_m] is my favourite of the three! I think the [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Montoya connection has faded (and it’s not all that bad)–my main association with the name is [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] [name_m]Jones[/name_m], the 17th century British architect.

[name_m]Iago[/name_m] sounds cool, but the [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] character from [name_m]Othello[/name_m] is the one association with the name, and it’s a genuinely unpleasant one–in the English-speaking world, I think this name is one of the rarities that is not usable on a real human. I know that’s strong language, but whatever take you have on the character and the play, [name_m]Iago[/name_m] manipulates and betrays his best friend and colleague, destroying lives without remorse. The Disney parrot is a watered-down and decidedly more likeable homage.

[name_m]Santiago[/name_m] is cool, but I think immediately of the capital of Chile and the pilgrimage route in Spain, so it has an oddly corporate feel to it in English? (I’m probably thinking of Santander bank, too). I think it would work if the person had a strong connection to a Spanish-speaking culture.

There’s always [name_m]Ianto[/name_m], whose main association in the last decade or so is the character from the Dr Who spinoff Torchwood, which isn’t a bad association at all! The last episode aired several years ago now, and I think the effect is less one of a one-character name, and more one that brought an old Welsh version of [name_m]John[/name_m] to a much wider audience. [name_m]Jago[/name_m] also makes a good Cornish alternative to [name_m]Iago[/name_m], without the loaded [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] association. I think it’s a little bit Telegraph birth announcement for some tastes–but so were [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] 15 years ago!

I voted for [name_m]Santiago[/name_m].

[name_m]Iago[/name_m] is super cool, but I can only think of [name_m]Othello[/name_m] and [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m]… and I don’t like the sound of [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] as much (and it’s all [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Bride[/name_f] for me).

I also like [name_m]Thiago[/name_m], and the suggestion of [name_m]Ianto[/name_m].

[name_m]Santiago[/name_m] can go by [name_m]Iago[/name_m] and [name_m]Inigo[/name_m].

[name_m]Inigo[/name_m] is so handsome and sweet, and I really like the sound of it. I think it’s an underused gem.
It does make me think of The [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Bride[/name_f], but the character makes me love the name even more!

[name_m]Santiago[/name_m] is also handsome, and would be my second choice.

[name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Montoya (sorry, couldn’t resist)

But seriously, my pick from those three is actually [name_m]Inigo[/name_m].
