We have a daughter (Sofia Constance) and would like suggestions for a sibling name (girl) that would work. Mom is Scandinavian and Dad is [name_f]English[/name_f] and would obviously need a name that works in both countries. (Live in Scandinavia).
Our current favourites are:
[name_u]Ivy[/name_u], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Naja[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Caia[/name_f] and [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
And current favourite middle names:
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Josefine[/name_f], [name_f]Otilie[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f], [name_f]Philippa[/name_f], [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]
Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated (both new and from our favourites)
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites from your list are [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Josefine[/name_f] or [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f].
You don’t say where in Scandinavia you are, but I’m going to guess [name_m]Denmark[/name_m] or maybe Greenland based on your picks.
The name [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] stands out to me as very rare in comparison to some of the others. [name_u]An[/name_u] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] might be seen as “the [name_f]English[/name_f] girl” more than say, [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Naja[/name_f]. I’m guessing you are spelling [name_f]Caia[/name_f] like that instead of [name_f]Kaja[/name_f] to make the pronounciation clearer to the [name_f]English[/name_f] side of the family. I don’t blame you, but I think the same thing would apply here as with [name_u]Ivy[/name_u]. [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] is also very rare but feels more common for some reason? Probably because it’s similar to [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilly[/name_f]? Idk if this is a me-thing. It’s perfectly ok if it doesn’t matter to you. It’s just a bit unusual with sibling names where one is super common and one is rare.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites to go with [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] are probably [name_f]Naja[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Naja[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]?
From your list, my favourite combinations are:
• [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Josefine[/name_f]
• [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
• [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f]
I also really like [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] as a short form for [name_f]Penelope[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] “Poppy” [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] is so pretty!
