Scandinavian/English/Irish Names for Twin Boys

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] everyone

My husband is Norwegian and I am American (with Irish and English heritage) and we are expecting twin boys. Finding names that honor our heritages and are easy to pronounce in many cultures is hard! We live in a [name_m]German[/name_m] speaking country and I haven’t live in the US for a while so I am a little out of touch with what is “playground proof”. I would like at least one Scandi name. I don’t think either of us really have specific tastes or styles when it comes to names. We have a 3 syllable last name so I like one or two syllable names. I prefer to stay away from really popular names. And it should be easy to pronounce in both English and Norwegian.

Here is our list so far. Maybe you can glean something from our “style” and give me your opinion. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them too!

[name_m]Aksel[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] (paternal grandpa)
[name_m]Espen[/name_m]
[name_m]Oskar[/name_m]
[name_m]Emil[/name_m]
[name_f]Ola[/name_f] (paternal grandpa)
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u] (or [name_u]Keegan[/name_u])
[name_m]Henning[/name_m]
[name_m]Sayer[/name_m]
[name_u]Sander[/name_u]
[name_f]Sondre[/name_f]

Great list! I love [name_m]Espen[/name_m], [name_f]Sondre[/name_f] and [name_m]Aksel[/name_m], all very solid and good Norwegian names. [name_u]Kieran[/name_u]'s great, and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] too; this actually seems to be a very good fit as it’s both Irish and Norwegian.

Some other Norwegian names I think would fit:
[name_m]Birk[/name_m]
Eivind
[name_m]Erling[/name_m]
Eskil
[name_m]Gustav[/name_m]
[name_m]Iver[/name_m]
[name_m]Jesper[/name_m]
Mattis
[name_m]Mikkel[/name_m]
Sivert
[name_m]Steffen[/name_m]
[name_m]Stian[/name_m]
Sverre
Trym
Vegard
Vetle

[name_u]Kieran[/name_u] is nice. But if you’re part Irish you might like the Irish spelling [name_m]Ciaran[/name_m] (for extra Irishness you have the spelling with the accent on the last a, changing the pronunciation to KIE-RAAN (long a)), although perhaps that might complicate pronunciation in the States. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is always lovely I think! And [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] is great too. They’d go lovely together. As you are a mixed couple it might be nice to mix names of the different origins, something of both worlds

Made me think of [name_m]Stellan[/name_m] which is Swedish I think, but has an Irish feel like [name_m]Kellen[/name_m]/[name_m]Kellan[/name_m].

You have a lot of great names though. I love [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_f]Ola[/name_f], [name_m]Oskar[/name_m], [name_m]Emil[/name_m], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_u]Keegan[/name_u], [name_m]Sayer[/name_m]…

[name_m]Aksel[/name_m] is really wonderful - one of my own favourite names. I also really love [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] and [name_u]Sander[/name_u].

Some Scandinavian suggestions:
Asger
Aslak
[name_m]Bertil[/name_m]
[name_m]Birk[/name_m]
Bror
[name_m]Folke[/name_m]
[name_m]Gustaf[/name_m]/[name_m]Gustav[/name_m]
[name_m]Njord[/name_m]
[name_f]Nor[/name_f]
Rumle
Sigge
Sixten
Snorre
[name_u]Storm[/name_u]
Sverre
Tjalfe/Tjalfi
Villads
Ville

I really like the names [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Emil[/name_m] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m]!
