Hello! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have a few name faves but are struggling to make a final decision. Our first daughter is [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and we would love another name to go with her name but also have it’s own charm and stand on its own as a strong name. We have choices for a boy or a girl and would love your suggestions on your fave of the bunch. Not set on having family names but did include a few we like as options for middle names… [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]'s name is entirely original and no family influences there. 32 weeks so a little time yet but still not landed on one name so here goes… Thanks in advance for any advice:) Suggestions on first and middle names welcome:)
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]-both meaning red I would stay away from this as a sibling to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]-sounds odd with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] due to the et ending in both
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]- Is a lovely choice as long as you don’t mind the double S sibset. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is my favorite.
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]- fits very nicely with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]. [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] would be a gorgeous choice
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]- [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] hands down is my favorite with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
With a sister named [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], I would avoid other colours like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] unless you want to begin a pattern for any future children. [name_f]Stella[/name_f] shares an initial with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] (if you don’t mind that this name would be my top pick). [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] shares a “t” ending and it’s a completely different style to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] as is [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. Have you considered [name_f]Willow[/name_f] for [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]'s sister? Although [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is a shade of green not many people may know it. It’s not as well-known as [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]. Other suggestions: [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], Georgia, Magnolia, Annabel,[name_f] Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]. For a boy, I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] the best although it doesn’t flow well with any of your mn choices. Second choice would be the spunky [name_m]Milo[/name_m]. I would avoid [name_m]Archer[/name_m] (the “ar” is too similar in sound to [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]). [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] share an initial and coal black is a colour so [name_m]Cole[/name_m] isn’t ideal.
I wouldn’t use [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] or [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] which [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] unless you want to start a theme. I don’t really like [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] with [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] either. [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] sound a little strange together with the T endings.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are -
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] (I prefer this spelling)
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] and [name_m]Archer[/name_m]
Girls:
Ruby & Scarlett - too much red
Juliet & Scarlett - too much -et Stella & Scarlett - these share a lot of the same letters, but sound pretty different. Hazel & Scarlett - although these are both color names, i think style-wise they are a good fit and sound good together
Madeline & Scarlett - not bad but dont seem to “go” as well as Stella and Hazel
Stella Elizabeth, Hazel Grace
Boys:
Archer & Scarlett - too much ‘ar’ Finn & Scarlett - favorite
Cole & Scarlett - ok together, but my least favorite boy name on list
Sawyer & Scarlett - cute Milo & Scarlett - cute
[name_u]Love[/name_u] all the suggestions. I like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]Archer[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] and [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u] most… [name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves [name_f]Juliet[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_m]Cole[/name_m] or [name_m]Archer[/name_m] (so far no middle names). [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] he likes too, but brings it up less frequently:)
Liking the other suggestions also:) Thank you and keep sharing your faves/ideas!
From your list, I like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]/[name_f]Rose[/name_f] the best for a girl or [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_m]Jackson[/name_m] and [name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]/[name_m]William[/name_m] for a boy.
First name suggestions:
