I’ve recently fallen for the name [name]Scout[/name] for a girl. I brought it up to my SO last night thinking he wood either hate it or love it (because he’s an [name]Eagle[/name] scout) and after a moment of “are you serious?” He actually wound, up liking it! I love it for the literary connection and the fact thate w both come from big scouting families. While I didn’t do girl scouts for very long my moon and grandma were both very involved and [name]Chris[/name] and his brother are both [name]Eagle[/name] scouts, so it’s a nice nod to that. I’m just not sure how wearable [name]Scout[/name] is in real life.
What do you think, berries? Is it usable, or best left in literature?
I love it, but I made myself use it for my dog (female) so I wouldn’t be tempted to use it for a child. I think it’s cute on a child, but not very wearable for an adult. Maybe as a middle name?
I really like the name [name]Scout[/name] - for a girl or boy.
When I was a teenager I went by the nickname [name]Scout[/name] for a year or so (choosen for myself from To Kill A Mockingbird.)
I think it would work just fine in this day and age for a girl(and in the future a woman).
[name]Demi[/name] [name]Moore[/name] and [name]Bruce[/name] [name]Willis[/name] have a daughter named [name]Scout[/name]. I would guess she’s in her late teens or early 20’s by now. So my perception of the name is that it works for outdoorsy girls (like in TKAM) and for beautiful refined women, like their daughter. It’s so super cute, and I’ve been debating bringing the name up to my DH myself. (For the same reason as yours, he will either love it or hate it.) Good luck!
It is on my list for either genders-love it! Short and simple. if [name]Scott[/name] works for an adult (I know its a boy example) why couldn’t [name]Scout[/name]?
