I know it is up to Discourse if this function gets added, but if you could suggest to them to allow for a range of dates to be search. Right now you can only search before or after a specific date, but not from date A to date B.

Apologies @shells15, I made a mental note to reply to this earlier but it turns out physical notes are the way to go! 
There isn’t a button for this, per se, but you can achieve the same result by using before: and after: search clauses. See these examples from Discourse 
So, for example, this is what I get if I enter the following search term in the bar at the top:
after:2020-09-01 before:2020-10-01 eliza
It gives me all posts containing the word “[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]” posted between 1st [name_u]September[/name_u] and 1st [name_u]October[/name_u] 2020.
