šŸŒž searching for my perfect thomas combo

my favourite name is thomas. he’s classic, familiar and warm, he honours a few people in my life, he’s Biblical, ages well, and comes with some pretty cute nicknames. i’ve been trying for a while to find the perfect middle name for him- something that complements thomas well and has some sort of meaning to me. my list currently is:

thomas declan
thomas florian
thomas jago
thomas ransom
thomas harper
thomas james
thomas ives
thomas armand
thomas leopold
thomas leonidas
thomas fletcher

i’m trying to narrow down this list, and so i would love it if you berries could:

  1. please tell me which thomas combo is your favourite for me, and which is your least favourite for me.
  2. which you could most easily see as a brother for evangeline ruth hypothetically!

thank you all so much in advance!! :sunflower:

My favourites:

Thomas Leopold
Thomas Florian
Thomas Harper
Thomas Armand

Thomas Jago isn’t bad itself, but I don’t really like how it looks.

For you: My favourites is Thomas Harper.

But for me…… Thomas Leopold might go as well. So elegant and adorable and fantastic. :yellow_heart:

  1. I’m absolutely obsessed with [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m], but [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m] is a close second :ear_of_rice:

  2. [name_f]My[/name_f] least favorite is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] James; both are great names but the combo just doesn’t feel as special as your others

  3. and finally, I can see [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u] or [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m] as a brother for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]!

some stunning options!

based on your other combos, my favorite for you is either [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u] or [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m]

as a sibling to [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], either of those go very well imo, but I would probably settle on [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m] for you.

The most matching to [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] Ruth… Hm perhaps the top 3. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] would also work, even though for me [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is not a unisex name.

I’m always puzzled by questions like ā€œwhich [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] combo is your favourite for meā€ - I’d have trouble answering them with regards to an old friend, and certainly a stranger on the internet!

But my favourite is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Declan[/name_u]. It feels jaunty, unpretentious, memorable.

[name_f]My[/name_f] least favourite is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m]. The repeated S sounds make it hissy.

For a brother to [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], I’d go with [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m]. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] are both serious biblical stalwarts, [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] are elegant and elaborate.

It sounds like it could be the name of a great American author/cowboy or something

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] are seriously swoon worthy!

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Jago[/name_m] is my least favorite just because those two don’t jive style wise for me.

  1. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourites for you would be [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] & [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m]. I also like [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] & [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], but the aforementioned combos were for you.

  2. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]! It truly has my heart. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m] is a close second if you’re looking for something short like [name_f]Ruth[/name_f].

  1. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite for you is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u]! It has a softness but a strength too, a bright feel with a hint of flair and distinction. It feels well balanced and nature-y. [name_f]My[/name_f] least favourite is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. It lacks any spark for me, doesn’t really stand up to [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and doesn’t encapsulate your style so well. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ransom[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Jago[/name_m] are my other favourites.

  2. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u] works best for me here - it seems to have similar balance and quiet flair

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is lovely :teddy_bear:

I really love from your list [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m]. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u] sounds romantic, dreamy and handsome I love the whimsical flair of this name. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_u]Harper[/name_u] feels distinguished. Finally [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ives[/name_m] just feels spirited and outdoorsy with gorgeous coastal imagery attached. [name_f]My[/name_f] least favourite is [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] I find [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] a little juxtaposed next to [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] has an edgy trendy ā€˜danger’ feel that just doesn’t work so well with peaceful cosy [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Concerning [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] she is a stunning sister name! I also think [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] + [name_f]Mara[/name_f] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] work wonders.

[name_u]Declan[/name_u], [name_u]Florian[/name_u], [name_u]Harper[/name_u] or [name_m]Ives[/name_m]

[name_m]Ives[/name_m] is my fave! But all four go with either [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or both, and have handsome man vibes.

Based on your signature I would say Thomas Ives or Thomas Fletcher. Least favorite is Thomas Ransom. I think Thomas Ives could easily be a brother to Evangeline Ruth.

I love the idea of Thomas Ransom as a brother to your absolute gem Evangeline Ruth. Those pair are so cool and delightful and Biblical and grand, to me. And that’s coming from a not-usually-a-fan-of-Ransom truther, too! (ETA: I’m shocked this combo is not getting more adoration. He is an absolute smash hit for me!)

For you, darlin, my favorites in order are…

  1. Thomas Ransom
  2. Thomas Declan
  3. Thomas Jago
  4. Thomas Harper
  5. Thomas Fletcher

And my least favorite is Thomas James. Don’t get me wrong—I think that both of these names are absolutely gorgeous. They’re strong and Biblical and totally your feel, as first names. Together, I just find them too predictable and plain to live amongst your lively lists.

I like [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Armand[/name_m] best. I like the repetition of the M in both names. Also, [name_m]Armand[/name_m] is a cool name that is seldom used. It matches [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] in uniqueness. IMO it gives classic [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] a sophisticated, worldly air to the name.

[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Ransom[/name_m] is my least favorite. [name_m]Just[/name_m] don’t like the name.
