Searching for the perfect name

So here is our list so far- I’d love opinions as well as suggestions -not sure if we have found ‘the one’ yet, especially for the girls. Most of our names on the list are quite vintage in style, but we would love other styles of suggestions too that you think we might like and fit with [name]Maximilian[/name] ([name]Max[/name]) and [name]Felix[/name]-no x names please! We are particularly on the look out for French and/or Italian names for girls.

So far we have:

[name]Harold[/name] (front runner at the moment)
[name]Grover[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Wilfred[/name] (dh has fallen in love with this nn Wilfie- I’m not sure if I can shake the dog association)
[name]William[/name]
[name]Walter[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
Asher
Bastien

[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Annie[/name] (not a fan of [name]Anne[/name], still coming up with a longer form)
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name] (dh was not keen on this but is starting to warm up… not sure if it will last!)
[name]Stella[/name]

From your girls list I particularly like
[name]Annie[/name]- instead of [name]Anne[/name] you could do [name]Anna[/name], [name]Annika[/name], [name]Anais[/name]. [name]Annika[/name] is fun and it has a spunky letter like [name]Max[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] without using another x.
[name]Beatrice[/name]- classic.
[name]Stella[/name]- ties to [name]Max[/name] and [name]Felix[/name] with the L It’s cute.

[name]Rafael[/name]
[name]Clement[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]
I think [name]Jasper[/name] is also a petfect fit. My favourite put of your picks.(will do a quick think for the girls)

[name]Rafael[/name]
[name]Clement[/name]
[name]Sebastian[/name]
[name]Rupert[/name]
I think [name]Jasper[/name] is also a perfect fit. My favourite.
[name]Stella[/name] is my top girl pick.
Have you considered [name]Rosa[/name] instead of [name]Rose[/name]? It sounds stunning with the boys.

[name]Jude[/name] is my favourite of your boys name choices. [name]Max[/name], [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Jude[/name] sounds great.

[name]Stella[/name] is my pick from your girls - [name]Max[/name], [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Stella[/name].

I also really like [name]Beatrice[/name], and I know you said no ‘X’ names but [name]Beatrix[/name] is also beautiful.

Other French/Italian sounding girls names:

[name]Adelina[/name] (Italian)
[name]Amelie[/name] (French)
[name]Aimee[/name] (French)
[name]Helene[/name] (French)
[name]Sabine[/name] (French)
[name]Lucia[/name] (Italian)

I like.

[name]Harold[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Walter[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]

[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]

[name]Edward[/name] and [name]Florence[/name] were my maternal grandparents names

Suggestions:

[name]Anais[/name]
[name]Anita[/name]
[name]Annette[/name]
[name]Nanette[/name]
[name]Floria[/name]
[name]Marcellina[/name]
[name]Sabina[/name]
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Luciana[/name]

Longer [name]Annie[/name] would be

[name]Annabeth[/name]
[name]Annabella[/name]
Analea
[name]Anita[/name]
Aranna

It’s great to see the love for [name]Stella[/name]… but I’m not sure if it’s a bit too popular! and thankyou for all the [name]Annie[/name] suggestions, so far nothing has caught our eye though :frowning:

We’ve also added two names to the boys list: [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Bastien[/name], thoughts?

What about [name]Eliza[/name] or [name]Marcella[/name] or [name]Alice[/name]?

Such Fun names here!

For a brother to [name]Felix[/name] and [name]Maximilian[/name], I see [name]Sebastian[/name] as a perfect fit, but since you have [name]Bastien[/name] on your list, I assume you’ve considered it and discarded it. [name]Harold[/name] is nice because I like [name]Harry[/name]. [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Edward[/name] sound fresher than many of the names on your list. Also good would be [name]Theodore[/name], [name]Sterling[/name], [name]Julian[/name], [name]Marcel[/name], [name]Simon[/name], or [name]Adrian[/name].

For a sister, I like [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Genevieve[/name], [name]Imogene[/name], [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Alice[/name], [name]Celine[/name], [name]Margot[/name] (though [name]Marguerite[/name] looks even more french), [name]Anastasia[/name], and I really like [name]Iris[/name] although I think the vibe is a little off, but that doesn’t really bother me much.

My favourites from your list are [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Stella[/name]. They give me the same classic, yet rare feel that I get from your sons’ names.

I live Italian girl names, so I’ll throw a few more out to you:
[name]Allegra[/name]
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Cara[/name]
[name]Eloisa[/name]
[name]Leonora[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Marianna[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]

Have you considered [name]Hazel[/name]? I love that it has a spunky letter without using x again.

I don’t know if it is your style at all, but Hosanna could be a longer form for [name]Annie[/name].

My favorites from your list are

[name]Max[/name], [name]Felix[/name], and [name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Max[/name], [name]Felix[/name], and [name]Iris[/name]

I also love the suggestion of [name]Julian[/name] for a boy. And I have the same problem as you with [name]Annie[/name]. [name]Love[/name] the nickname, not so much the longer forms. Have you considered names that end with anne? Like [name]Julianne[/name], [name]Lilianne[/name], [name]Marianne[/name]?

[name]Love[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] and [name]Grover[/name]!

If you don’t want the dog reference, I would also avoid [name]Grover[/name]. Especially next to [name]Felix[/name]. I think [name]Jude[/name] and [name]Jasper[/name] fit best with [name]Max[/name] and [name]Felix[/name], but some of the others are nice, like [name]Asher[/name] and [name]Samuel[/name]. Of the girl names, [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] are cute. What about [name]Estelle[/name]?

I like these ones from you list:

[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]

[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Annie[/name]
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]

Other “[name]Annie[/name]'s”

[name]Anya[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Annora[/name]
[name]Hannah[/name]

if [name]Stella[/name]'s too popular, what about [name]Estelle[/name]?

Good [name]Luck[/name],

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

So this is how our list is looking at the moment… it seems to be growing instead of shrinking, number three is definitely the hardest to name so far!! Please be as honest as you can about them, we are more concerned with finding a fantastic name that we love than one that is a ‘perfect fit’ with its siblings (though it would be great if it was as well)!!

[name]Harold[/name]
[name]Grover[/name]
[name]Jude[/name]
[name]Jasper[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]William[/name]
[name]Walter[/name]
[name]Edward[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Joel[/name]

[name]Florence[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Anthea[/name] (nn Annie)
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name] (thank you for the suggestion sunshine.10!!)
[name]Heidi[/name]

I love both [name]Wilfred[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] but that’s probably because those are my grandparents names! [name]Wilfred[/name] will definitely be my first born sons middle name!

For your boys, I really like [name]Jasper[/name]! I like [name]Sebastian[/name] more than [name]Bastian[/name]
For your girls, I love [name]Iris[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] (also [name]Estella[/name], and [name]Beatrix[/name] instead of [name]Beatrice[/name])

Thank you again for replies! Why is naming number three so hard, we can’t seem to narrow it down at all! Any more opinions/ideas?
