Seasonal Names that aren't Overt

I’m sure there’s been a discussion like this before, but do you have any names that are tied to a season in your mind? I’m specifically thinking of ones that aren’t as obvious as [name_u]Snow[/name_u] for winter or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] for spring. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite girl names are tied to a specific season, and I’m actually debating whether it would be crazy to name a future daughter based on the season she’s born in!

For example:
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (reminds me of spring because of the phoebes (birds) that come out in the spring)
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (reminds me of winter because of [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_m]Clooney[/name_m] in White [name_u]Christmas[/name_u]!)
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] (reminds me of summer because of the water/aquatic meaning)

Do anyone else’s favorite names evoke a season in their mind? I’m just curious about everyone’s personal associations!

I totally take seasons into account. [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] was going to be born on the cusp of autumn based on the Chinese zodiac because they are an autumn flower.

I am unsure when we will conceive obviously but we plan to start trying at the very end of this year so I have a lot of Autumny names I’m thinking of again, like [name_f]Teresa[/name_f]. I consider [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_f]Proserpina[/name_f] for either equinox, [name_f]Alcione[/name_f] for winter solstice, [name_f]Brigid[/name_f] for midwinter, [name_f]Thallo[/name_f] or [name_f]Flora[/name_f] for spring. [name_f]Aster[/name_f] is a late season name for me, and as much as I love it I would feel weird naming a spring or summer baby [name_f]Aster[/name_f]. [name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u] and [name_f]Jacinthe[/name_f] are the early-season flowers.

I have a lot of favorites that are tied to specific seasons… and even more that are tied to specific dates or times… then again I named my first “happy time” so it is no secret that I care about measuring and signaling time with names.

A few I can think of:
I associate [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] with spring ([name_f]Primrose[/name_f], because of the flower and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] since it means “resurrection” and was traditionally given to [name_f]Easter[/name_f] babies).

I associate [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] and [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] with summer, because of their meanings. Also, names that begin with [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- like [name_f]Marina[/name_f] and [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] sound summery to me (mar means “sea” in Latin).

I associate [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] with autumn, because (in the UK at least) the poppy flower is the emblem of Remembrance [name_u]Day[/name_u].

Oh, right, lol. I have one of those, a just before [name_f]Easter[/name_f] baby. It literally JUST occurred to me that my second’s name signals time, too. Wow.

I like [name_f]Idalia[/name_f] for summer (it means “behold the sun”)

I like [name_f]Opal[/name_f] for fall (it’s the birthstone for [name_f]October[/name_f])

I like [name_f]Lumi[/name_f] for winter (it means “snow”)

I like [name_f]Freya[/name_f] for spring ( [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is the Nordic goddess of fertility, love, beauty, and springtime)

I love these! Thank you guys for sharing your responses!

@hyacinthbucket, I can absolutely see [name_f]Teresa[/name_f] as an autumn name! For some reason, it gives me such warm, brown, almost nutty vibes. I’m not sure why!

@choupette, [name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] is such a summery name! I love that.

@Lily_Grace I have [name_f]Opal[/name_f] as a middle name on my list, and I definitely feel like it should be for an autumn baby now. [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is also very springy to me
