Second Baby Girl

Hello Everyone,

On my last post I asked for suggestions on a second girl name because I feel so much pressure to find a special name since mine is Cambria. I know it sounds silly but I really did get so many compliments on my name, even now. Like, just telling a customer service representative on the phone and they’re like “oh wow, I love that name”. Which, thanks to my grandfather for giving me the name but it’s a lot of pressure when you are naming your own kid. I think most of the pressure comes from my family. Every time I tell my mother a name I might like she sort of rolls her eyes. The comments are always “oh yeah I know so and so with that name already” l don’t know how to make everyone happy.

I let my husband name our first daughter, Annaliese. I got a lot of great suggestions on my last post. I had previously liked Marigold and I really liked the suggestion of Calanthe but my husband just won’t go for them even as middle names. He understands wanting that “oh wow” factor but doesn’t like when a name sounds made up. His number one pick is Rebekah (Rebecca). Which I agree is pretty but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on variations or middle names that might make us both happy.

Hmm I would suggest that your husband needs to be a bit more flexible towards the names you like since you gave the impression in your other thread that he very much took the lead in picking both the first and middle name for your other daughter.

Firstly congratulations!

Honestly naming is so hard and you’ve had so many fabulous suggestions on both your first post that I read through & on your second. I have to say I agree with @sarahjane1 I think your husband needs to compromise/have more flexibility when it comes to naming this child. From what I understand he’s taken the lead with your previous children’s names and in my opinion this should be your time to shine!

What does he not like about [name_f]Calanthe[/name_f] or [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]? [name_m]Can[/name_m] he see any plus points with those names? Maybe understanding this will help you find names with a similar vibe but he would like?

Also I would stop sharing your names with people as it can taint your overall perception of a name which is not helpful when your struggling to find the right one!
