Second Girl, Fourth Child--Suggestions?

What a great site! I named my first three children without knowing about nameberry but seem to have the same taste as many here. My 2 sons are [name]Bram[/name] ([name]Bramwell[/name]) and [name]Rafe[/name] ([name]Rafferty[/name]) and my daughter is [name]Imogen[/name]. We are expecting another girl in [name]April[/name].

So far I like [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Tabitha[/name] but don’t love any of these yet.

DH likes, no, has his heart set on [name]Lara[/name] which is a bit blah to me but what do you think?

I see [name]Clementine[/name] is very popular here but it is my daughter’s pony’s name (which is very cute in itself) but obviously not going to work for us.

I would love any suggestions!

I love all your girl possibilities! [name]Clara[/name], [name]Rosalind[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], and [name]Tabitha[/name] are especially beautiful. I agree that [name]Lara[/name] is a little boring… what about it as a nickname for [name]Larisa[/name] or [name]Ilaria[/name] or something? Here are other suggestions:

[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]

I think some of your names could be beautiful middle names!

Your children have great names! I particularly love [name]Rafferty[/name] Some suggestions:

[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Junia[/name]

[name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Alanna[/name]
[name]Ciara[/name] (kee-rah)

Sorry for any repeats. I also didn’t include any suggestions beginning with ‘B’, ‘R’ or ‘I’ for obvious reasons.

Good [name]Luck[/name]

[name]Bramwell[/name], [name]Rafferty[/name], [name]Imogen[/name] & [name]Briony[/name]

[name]Lara[/name] could be cute if it was a nn for a longer names like [name]Larissa[/name].

As much as I love [name]Eleanor[/name], I find that it doesn’t match the style of your other children’s names (all beautiful by the way:) [name]Rosalind[/name] is beautiful: would you call her [name]Rosie[/name], [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Rosa[/name]? [name]Rosamund[/name] is nice but seems a bit too old-fashioned compared to your other children’s names. [name]Josephine[/name] is very pretty too. I love [name]Clara[/name] and it fits right in with [name]Bram[/name], [name]Rafe[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name]! Not a big fan of [name]Tabitha[/name], sorry.

My favorites from your lists are [name]Rosalind[/name] and [name]Clara[/name].

Some other names you might like (Sorry for repeats!):

[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]
[name]Alexia[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Brigitta[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]Matilda[/name]

[name]Hope[/name] I helped:)!!!

Thanks for the great suggestions! I really like [name]Cecily[/name], [name]Vivienne[/name] (but is it getting too trendy?), [name]Violette[/name], [name]Eloise[/name] and Phillippa ([name]Pippa[/name]). [name]Love[/name] [name]Freya[/name] but DH hates it (!) and love [name]Iris[/name] but a close friend “stole” it for her daughter last year.

What do you think of [name]Portia[/name], another Shakespearean name to go with [name]Imogen[/name]? Or [name]Hero[/name] (but maybe that’s pushing it even for me). But it leaves the girls with no nns, and I love the boys’ nns. Sadly [name]Imogen[/name] gets called [name]Imo[/name] by some of her friends which I hate. I like Cece, [name]Vivi[/name], [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Rosie[/name] or [name]Rosa[/name] (for [name]Rosalind[/name]) a lot as nns. Sorry don’t even like [name]Lara[/name] much as a nn so DH is going to have to adjust!

Thanks again, you are all very creative and sympatico!

Off the top of my head,

[name]Bronte[/name]
[name]Melissa[/name] nn Lissy, [name]Mel[/name], [name]Lissa[/name]
[name]Melisande[/name] nn See Above and also [name]Sandy[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] nn [name]Harrie[/name]
[name]Olivette[/name] nn [name]Olly[/name], [name]Liv[/name], [name]Olive[/name]
[name]Elizabeth[/name] nn [name]Lizzy[/name], [name]Effie[/name], [name]Beth[/name], [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] nn [name]Nola[/name], [name]Elle[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]/[name]Lucille[/name] nn [name]Elle[/name], [name]Cindy[/name]
[name]Serena[/name]
[name]Sabrina[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name] nn [name]Bee[/name]
[name]Katrina[/name] nn [name]Kat[/name], [name]Katey[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name] nn [name]Cordy[/name]
[name]Florence[/name] nn [name]Florrie[/name], [name]Floss[/name], [name]Flossie[/name]
[name]Verona[/name] nn [name]Rona[/name]
[name]Regan[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name] nn [name]Leah[/name], [name]Emmy[/name]

All of your names are beautiful and I really like the suggestion of [name]Phillipa[/name] and [name]Cecily[/name]. I think those names would go great with your children’s names. In defense of [name]Lara[/name], I think it’s beautiful and it would go well with your others. It makes me think of the heroine of Dr. [name]Zhivago[/name]. And I can’t help picturing [name]Julie[/name] [name]Christie[/name] (who played her) and she’s gorgeous.

Your children have fabulous names! Of your picks so far I love [name]Eleanor[/name] (totally biased), [name]Rosalind[/name] and [name]Tabitha[/name] especially.

I think [name]Portia[/name] would work nicely.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Larissa[/name] nn [name]Lara[/name]?

Have you thought of [name]Mena[/name]/[name]Mina[/name] as a nn for [name]Imogen[/name]. If you like it, maybe it’s something you could suggest to her as an alternative to [name]Imo[/name].

[name]Hi[/name] Ponymom,

[name]How[/name] about [name]Pandora[/name]? You can call her Panda or [name]Pan[/name] for her nn.

Or [name]Persephone[/name]? nn Fon.

Or [name]Laramie[/name]? nn [name]Mimi[/name] or Mims.

With [name]Bramwell[/name] ([name]Bram[/name]), [name]Rafferty[/name] ([name]Rafe[/name]) and [name]Imogen[/name]:
[name]Philippa[/name] - [name]Pippa[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] - [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Penny[/name]
[name]Rosalind[/name] - [name]Rosie[/name]
[name]Clara[/name] - no great nicknames, but this was my favorite from your list
[name]Tabitha[/name] - [name]Tibby[/name] - from your list, I think this is adorable!
[name]Bianca[/name] - [name]Bee[/name] (I second pp’s suggestion of this–lovely given name and adorable, playful nickname), but shares [name]Bram[/name]'s initial which you may not like
[name]Gwyneth[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]

My favorites: [name]Bianca[/name] nn [name]Bee[/name], [name]Clara[/name] (but no good nn), and [name]Philippa[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name]. Oh, and [name]Tabitha[/name] nn [name]Tibby[/name]!

Good luck!

What do you think of [name_f]Talitha[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Freya[/name_f]?

I love your children’s names! I also love your list–[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] is my favorite. Others I like:

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]

[name_f]Clarissa[/name_f]

[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
