Second guessing myself

Have you ever loved a name for so long and once the opportunity arose to use it, you second guess yourself? Or you’re so used to seeing it written out, but now that you’re saying it out loud it seems different to you? I’ve always loved Sylvie and we are planning on naming this baby Sylvie. I guess I’m just looking for advice and to know it’s normal to second guess a name I’ve always loved.

Yep I would say that’s normal. I feel like you’ve got to ask yourself how you’re going to feel if you pass up the opportunity to use it. If you feel relieved not using it then maybe it’s not the name, however if you feel like you’ll regret not using it, I would go for it.

Oh absolutely! Me and my partner are planning to start trying shortly and all of a sudden I’m removing all the names that are pretty but have no deep meaning. I guess when it becomes real you get a different perspective. I do think [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is a great choice though. So you’re not wrong in thinking it’s a beautiful name.

I think that’s normal. Naming is such a big responsibility and decision.

[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is lovely

It is normal. It’s the weight of commitment vs something hypothetical. [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous, and unlike many other -ie ending names which are super cutesy, it’s also chic on a grown woman. Beautiful choice.
