Second MN for Daphne Imogen!

After weeks of mulling it over, I think I’m finally leaning toward [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] for my [name]Daphne[/name] combo. I also like [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Giovanna[/name], but [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] seems to fit what I’m looking for more.

I need help with a second MN. Since [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Imogen[/name] are just names I like, I’d like the second MN to honor someone special.

So far, my ideas:

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] ([name]Fleur[/name] would be for my best friend, who passed away [name]December[/name] 14. The rest honor family…)
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

Other family names: [name]Jane[/name]/[name]Giovanna[/name], [name]Claire[/name]/[name]Clara[/name], Esmee/[name]Esmeralda[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name]/[name]Pearl[/name], [name]Opal[/name], [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Winter[/name], [name]Ruby[/name]/[name]Rue[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Maren[/name], [name]Kate[/name], [name]Wren[/name]/[name]Lark[/name], [name]Grace[/name], any [name]Anne[/name]- name, etc. Would any of those work with [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name]?

Thanks!

Would you consider [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] [name]Giovanna[/name]?

I like [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] the best! It has a great flow  [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is nice but I don’t like the DIK initials, even though it would have the R at the end, I still don’t like it. I like [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] is nice but the r at the end of [name]Fleur[/name] seems to bump into your last name :frowning: Any of them would make a great choice but I think [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is the best

I would maybe consider [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Fleur[/name] [name]Giovanna[/name]! I like [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Giovanna[/name] [name]Fleur[/name], though, and I don’t mind how [name]Fleur[/name] smooshes into my LN ([name]Richards[/name]). If I used [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Giovanna[/name], I really, really love [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Giovanna[/name] [name]Ruby[/name], though, so I don’t know if I’d be willing to give that up.

@dillonsfan01 - I didn’t even think of the DIK initials! I knew someone who had all but decided on [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Isabelle[/name] [name]Carys[/name] for her [name]Daphne[/name] combo, when the initials were brought up… I don’t know why that didn’t even cross my mind. [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is definitely out!

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is my favorite - love it!

I love [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Fleur[/name], I think it’s really beautiful, and it honors your friend. I think that’s the best choice!
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

Thanks for your thoughts!

I’m not sure how I feel about honoring my friend… on the one hand, I have always felt that it’s a bit silly to honor friends, since they can turn on you at any time and I’ve always felt that there has been no one closer to me than my family and my God. Then again, [name]Millie[/name] as there for me until the very end, and was so selfless and good and kind… and even more, I will probably adopt all my kids, and there was nothing more she cared about than adoption, besides her own little girl and her little sister–so it feels like a fitting tribute to me. She just had a heart of gold, and if there’s anyone outside of my family that I could/should honor, I feel that it should be her.

What does everyone feel about honoring friends? I honestly never thought I would ever consider honoring any of my friends, but I feel like [name]Millie[/name] might be a special case, and I can’t imagine a more worthy person to name my daughter after… Would any of you honor a friend in your child’s name?

I have [name]Joseph[/name] in my list as an MN to honor my best friend [name]Joe[/name] who has been there for me for a long time now. Most of my children will also come from adoption, though I will not TTC until after I am married, I don’t think it will work, as all signs point to infertility for me. [name]Joe[/name] is very supportive of adoption since he was adopted by his grandparents and will most likely adopt his own children as well. I would not considered using a FN to honor a friend but I think an MN is a nice way to say “Thanks for being there for me” whether they are still with us or have passed away

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] is simply stunning, so that’s my pick.

I would definitely be willing to honor a friend’s name…if the friend was worthy of being honored, like your friend.

I think honoring friends is tricky stuff, because I’m of the same thought process as you – you never know how things will end up. A friend of mine was named for a good friend of his family, someone they thought was truly worthy of the namesake. Some years later there was a pretty awful falling-out between the families, and my friend now hates his name – just abhors it. With a deceased friend though, I guess you know how the story ends. That sounds just horrible but I hope you understand what I’m getting at.

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Ruby[/name] gets my vote, also!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]DAPHNE[/name] [name]IMOGEN[/name]!!! i think my fav combo would be [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Kate[/name]… because my DD’s mn is [name]Cait[/name] and I’ve just always had a soft spot for this very sweet, pure, all-american/girl next door type name. I love it SO much. But I think a 1 syllable 2nd mn would work best for flow, unless you aren’t worried about flow, then I think my next favorite would be [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Fleur[/name].

You have awesome family names! [name]Jane[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], Esmee, [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Anne[/name]… wow. Amazing.

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] is pretty great:)

I’m considering [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Isla[/name]… wdyt? My other thoughts are [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Clara[/name], [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]…

I’m considering the name [name]Kara[/name] for a future daughter, in honor of a friend who passed away in the summer of 2010. She was one of the most selfless, geniune people I’ve ever known, and for me, to name a daughter after her is a way to honor her life and our friendship. Your friend sounds like she is pretty worthy of being honored with a name, so if you want to do it, then do it!

My first thought was [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and I like [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Rue[/name] and [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Grace[/name]

Other suggestions;

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Hannah[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Lila[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Willow[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Anna[/name] maybe [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]?
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Sarah[/name]/[name]Zara[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Laura[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Gloria[/name]

[name]Daphne[/name] [name]Isla[/name] is pretty! I think I like [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] best from your options, though.

And LOL, no, my family names really aren’t that great. There’s basically [name]John[/name] [name]Robert[/name] (two of them!), [name]Arlene[/name] [name]Grace[/name], [name]Karen[/name] [name]Arlene[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Eileen[/name], [name]Natalie[/name] [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Ruth[/name] [name]Mae[/name], and LB (no full name, just stinkin two letters… ugh. Sometimes I want to strangle my great-grandma! haha). Not very impressive, right? lol. I just get quite inventive with family names… [name]Jane[/name] is a variation of [name]John[/name], [name]Clara[/name] means the same thing as [name]Robert[/name], [name]Pearl[/name] is [name]Rebecca[/name]'s birthstone, Esmee ends in the [name]Mae[/name] sound (which would honor my grandmother), [name]Ruby[/name] feels and sounds similar to [name]Ruth[/name], [name]Tallulah[/name] is a nn I use for [name]Natalie[/name] (who often goes by [name]Tallie[/name]), [name]Violet[/name] is my grandmother’s and father’s birth flower, and it’s my other grandmother’s and my favorite color, [name]Lily[/name] is the last present my grandmother gave me before she died, and it’s also my brother’s birth flower, [name]Poppy[/name] is what I call my dad (and what my kids will call him, lol), and [name]Anne[/name] means the same thing as [name]Grace[/name]… lol.

I don’t think I would use [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Kate[/name], because of the DIK initials that someone pointed out, but I do like it a lot. I like the idea of [name]Daphne[/name] [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Pearl[/name], too! That could be a possibility.
