Second name for Evalee

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] guys! So, I managed to find a really great sounding name for when I have a little girl. I thought of the name ‘’[name_u]Everly[/name_u]’’ and I loved it to bits but then as I started thinking it through, the meaning of the name was putting me off to use it for the future. [name_u]Everly[/name_u] means ‘‘wild boar in a woodland clearing’’ which I particularly dont like. I then found the alternative name: ‘’[name_f]Evalee[/name_f]’’. Here in the UK, we would pronounce it as it is spelt. If we say the name ‘’[name_u]Everly[/name_u]’’, it sounds exactly the same as ‘’[name_f]Evalee[/name_f]’’. [name_m]Even[/name_m] better, the name ‘’[name_f]Evalee[/name_f]’’ means life which is great! So it’s like killing birds with one stone but then I can’t think of a good sounding second name for it which is why I need your help. I quite like the second name to be that of a flower but it doesn’t have to be. I thought of [name_f]Evalee[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] but would that sound to cliché? Any ideas? Thank you.

[name_f]Evalee[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is lovely! Some other suggestions:

[name_f]Evalee[/name_f] [name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]
[name_f]Evalee[/name_f] [name_f]Camellia[/name_f]

I pronounce [name_f]Evalee[/name_f] as eee-vuh-lee, while [name_u]Everly[/name_u] is ever-lee. But that might just be my interpretation

I understand how you got to [name_f]Evalee[/name_f], and I even see that it’s an established name here on nameberry. But this is the second time I’ve had to say I don’t recommend the name and I’m strongly opposed to it. You see, it’s a homonym of “evilly”, as in “the maniacal villain laughed evilly,” or, “my ex-wife glared at me evilly.”

I didn’t know it was pronounced like “evilly” (“EE-va-lee”). I’ve never heard of this name before and I would automatically have said “EH-va-lee”, as the OP intends to pronounce it. But I do think others will say “EE-va-lee”, so it is something to consider.

[name_f]Evalee[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is too cutesy/girly for my tastes, but it does sound very pretty and has a lovely flow to it.

I’m from the UK and I see where you are coming from, but I’d still say [name_f]Evalee[/name_f] like [name_f]Eva[/name_f]-[name_u]Lee[/name_u], which then sounds like evilly.
I wish I could read it as a spelling variation of [name_u]Everly[/name_u] though, because it looks beautiful!
