So does anyone else have combos that they love but just can’t use for whatever reason? (Spouse veto, best friend already used, done having kids, etc) I have a bunch and even though I can’t use them, I would love for someone else to. So I thought it might be fun to start a thread where we can all post combos that we ourselves can’t/won’t use but would like to make available for other berries. Kind of like a secondhand shop, but for names.
I’ll start. Here are some lovely combos that my husband vetoed. Please feel free to use if any of them catch your fancy:
I would do [name]Vera[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] maybe?
[name]Althea[/name]
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Joan[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
Merit
[name]Ramona[/name]
[name]Rosemary[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Raquel[/name]
[name]Every[/name] R name and I love so many of them!!
[name]Thais[/name]
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name]
[name]Fern[/name]
[name]Fauna[/name]- [name]Fauna[/name] [name]Corinne[/name] I [name]LOVE[/name]
[name]Anna[/name]- I would use [name]Anna[/name]-[name]Beatrice[/name] as a hyphenate in a heartbeat!
[name]Anais[/name]
[name]Maxim[/name]
[name]Francis[/name] [name]Beauregard[/name]- though I am still working on my husband for that one
[name]Sidney[/name]
[name]Cecil[/name]
[name]Basil[/name]
[name]Alistair[/name]
[name]Mary[/name] [name]Apple[/name] - I know, everyone hates [name]Apple[/name] as a name, but I think it’s so sweet! I used to name the little girl in my [name]Sim[/name] family this. But my husband won’t let me name our children after fruit. Darn!
[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] - A few months after our daughter was born, one of my friends named her daughter this. I was like “See! Fruit names are totally usable!” And then hubby had the gall to mention that we could have had “[name]Lucy[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] and [name]Molly[/name] [name]Apple[/name]”. He ruined my baby-naming life. LOL!
Any combo with [name]Fiona[/name] or [name]Isla[/name]. I know they’re becoming popular, but when I first heard them they weren’t on the radar at all. I love them so, and they’re names my husband would probably actually let me use. They’re my cousins’ names, though.
Any combo with [name]Bryony[/name] or [name]Tamsin[/name]. I’ve never even mentioned these to my husband because I’m pretty sure he would think they were too weird or masculine or something, but I think they’re so interesting! Much better than just adding -lyn or -a or -ana to the end of a masculine name and declaring it a girl name.
[name]Fern[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Opal[/name], Aderyn, [name]Aveline[/name], [name]Oona[/name], [name]Ronan[/name], [name]Maren[/name], [name]Marina[/name], [name]Niall[/name] - They’re all more obscure/subtle nature-themed names. I just doubt they’ll ever fit into our naming scheme and/or my husband won’t like them.
I can’t use [name]Mila[/name], [name]Martin[/name], [name]Juliet[/name], [name]June[/name], [name]Georgina[/name], [name]Luna[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name], [name]Melisande[/name] (maybe I could use it), [name]Marina[/name]…
