My husband’s mother, Susan, died suddenly a few years ago, so we’ve been looking for a way that’s still very much us to honor her. My maternal grandfather also happened to be a massive “It’s a Wonderful Life” fan, so Zuzu, although a little zany, just seems right—we both really love the name.
My conundrum: I am seeking a unique yet slightly more romantic middle name. The surname is Schmidt. I did not take my husband’s name, but we are choosing to give the baby his name. It’s really not the easiest for pairing names I’m learning.
As far as middle names go—I am looking to possibly pay tribute to my Irish or Jewish heritages. I love literary names and would prefer something that ends in an -a or -ie, though I’m open. I have ruled out hyper-popular names like Ivy, Isla, etc. I am extremely into vintage names as well. That being said my mother’s name is Alice, which rules out one of the best literary names there is
@cactusgram I would totally go [name_f]Alice[/name_f], but in Jewish culture we can only name after those who have already passed! I’m loving these though, especially [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], and even [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
[name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is just divine! Cute pet names like Zujo and ZJ are always available!! And just in case your daughter doesn’t like [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] later on (but personally I love it) she has a goreous middle name she can use! [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is always a back up or even Jozie to highlight the Z if needed but I think [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f] is a great honor name
Some literary middles off the top of my head
