Seeking advice!

Boy Names

I posted all about the significance of naming my children after family members in another post, so I won’t do it again. It is just extremely important to me. My children are [name]Lucy[/name] [name]Marie[/name] (named after my grandmother and great-grandmother) and [name]Francis[/name] [name]Aidan[/name], nn [name]Frankie[/name] (named after my grandfather and great-grandfather.) We are expecting baby #3, and I have been dreading picking a boy name. Girl names are much easier, and I have much prettier options for girls ([name]Rosalie[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Helen[/name], etc.)

My boy choices are sort of limited. A lot of the same names have been used again, and again, so they’re currently being used by young people in my family and I kind of worry about naming my son something that his cousin is already named. If that makes sense. Basically, the names, [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Stanley[/name], [name]Michael[/name], [name]David[/name], [name]Walter[/name], and [name]John[/name] are all being used by people who will be close to this baby (gender currently unknown.) So, I hesitate to pick one of those names, the only problem is that they are sort of my only choices. I have a few others, but they’re either odd or I just don’t love them. Here are all of the choices, please tell me your opinions, reactions, suggestions, etc.

I love [name]Walter[/name], [name]Aloysius[/name] and [name]Ernest[/name]. What about [name]Walter[/name] [name]Aloysius[/name]? or [name]Aloysius[/name] [name]Ernest[/name], nn [name]Aly[/name]? It’s a great list of names- you can’t go wrong. Maybe you could but one of the “currently being used” names in the middle? Good luck!

I love the sibset [name]Lucy[/name], [name]Francis[/name], and [name]Thomas[/name] (if you’re okay with the ending of [name]Francis[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name] being the same). I also think [name]Aloysius[/name] is really cool, and [name]Walter[/name] would also fit the sibset, though I don’t personally like that name much. And of the names you marked as already being used, I like [name]Charles[/name] with [name]Lucy[/name] and [name]Francis[/name]. I would probably try to pick one not already being used for a first name, though.

I love the dashing [name]Aloysius[/name] paired with one of the more traditional classics:

I think [name]Walter[/name] sounds really good with your other two. I do agree that [name]Thomas[/name] would be fairly fitting as well.
