What do y’all think of the name [name_f]Selima[/name_f]? I’ve seen that it means either peace or tranquil. It’s way back on my family tree, and my mom says they almost named me [name_f]Selima[/name_f] before settling on [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] instead.
I love [name_f]Sally[/name_f] but think that might be too much of a stretch as a nn option.
Selima is really cool! I think [name_f]Sally[/name_f]/Selly works as a nickname and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] would be cute too. [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern is the lima. I really don’t think anyone would pronounce it like as in lima bean. But Se-lie-muh doesn’t sound very nice. To me it would be more like [name_f]Selena[/name_f] with a m sound.
I wonder how many people would jump to a Suh-lie-muh pronunciation. I have always pronounced it like [name_f]Selena[/name_f] with an M, but I wonder if that’s as intuitive as I’ve assumed.
I think it’s a great name! The meaning of peaceful or tranquil definitely comes across- it looks like a kind, peaceful name! I would assume it was pronounced like [name_f]Selena[/name_f] with an M. I think [name_f]Sally[/name_f] works as a nickname.
