Sell a name to your fellow Berries, too!
I went through your UC and these are a few names that I thought belonged there:
diana - diana is the roman goddess of hunting, the moon, and wild animals. it means ‘divine’ or ‘which brings the day’. the goddess was represented as beautiful and chaste. diana was/is popular amidst aristocracy and her most famous namesake comes from diana, princess of wales. she also finds literary credit in anne of green gables and all’s well that ends well. when i think of diana, i see a dimly lit crescent moon with a glimmering reflection on the midnight sea, that shines like glass.
lucinda - since you like lucie, i figured you would also like lucinda! lucinda was created by cervantes for his 1605 novel don quixote. it was subsequently used by moliere in his play the doctor in spite of himself. similar names are lucetta and lucilla. it reminds me of glass-stained windows, pilars and chapels, marble statues á la david of michelangelo and sunlight gently caressing aquamarine seas.
clarissa - an elaboration of clara, i find clarissa to be dainty and whimsical. it is related to clarice and the french variation clarisse. it is featured in the works of samuel richardson, virginia woolf, and charles dickens. it reminds me of light pink, white stone castles, intricate embroidery, love letters and lockets that carry a picture of your loved one.
I felt like this post was the kind that I would do in lower case, hope you don’t mind! I am not good with boy names but if I do think of any at all, I will come back to post them. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you like these.
Today, I’m going to suggest one fem name and one masc name (hope that’s okay):
[name_f]Mira[/name_f] - [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is a short name that contains multitudes. It has the literary feel of [name_u]Mina[/name_u] or Miranda; the freshness of [name_f]Maia[/name_f] and Mila; the sweetness of [name_f]Mia[/name_f] and the subtle strength of [name_f]Mara[/name_f] or [name_f]Keira[/name_f]. It’s wonderfully international with a delightful range of meanings: sea/ocean, peace, world, admirable, ruler, goodness/kindness, wonder. I just love the sweet yet regal feel of it, the short yet powerful vibes. I get imagery of shades of blue, sapphires, turquoise, labradorite, forget-me-not flowers, rolling waves, white and blue checked dresses.
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m] - for me, this is a name of glamour and grandeur, rugged and mystical, charming and cool! It has elegance, but also a hint of mischief and spark! It has literary ties (As You Like It by [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] and [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] by [name_f]Virginia[/name_f] Woolf) and it gives me imagery of green velvet, Renaissance paintings, flowing hair, and mystical forests. ‘Famous throughout the land’ is a pretty cool meaning too
