Seraphina

I read that [name]Seraphina[/name] is an up-and-coming name. I have always loved it. [name]Do[/name] you guys think it will really become popular?
Also - which nickname do you like better

  1. Seri
  2. [name]FiFi[/name] (weird I know but I think it would be cute for a baby)
  3. Phina (like [name]Nina[/name] but with the F sound like [name]Fina[/name])

Thanks

Awesome name choice! It’s definitely amongst the top of my favorites list too. I’m sure this’ll be one of those names that does shoot up a bit in the popularity lists. Seems pretty definite it’d rise into the top 1000, for certain. I don’t think it’d be a name that hit the top 100 or anything. It’ll probably become more well known and more common than it is now, but it doesn’t seem to be like it’d be one of the trendy names that gets a negative rep.
As far as NN, personally, I wouldn’t want a NN with this name, it’s just sounds so nice all connected together. But if I did eventually go for a NN, it’d probably be something closer to Phina, since it’s the most unique syllable of the name.

Its one of my faves! I prefer the spelling of [name]Serafina[/name]. While it may come into the top few hundred I dont see it ever being a top 100 name by any stretch. I love Phina as a nn.

[name]Seraphine[/name] has been on my list since I was ten years old, and it fits well with my boys’ names (vaguely religious and/or mythological, but not in an overt way). But I definitely believe it’s going to get up there, which has turned me off of it. So sad, because I think it’s gorgeous – [name]Seraphina[/name]/[name]Serafina[/name], too.

Who knows? It’s so unpredictable. I remember when [name]Evelyn[/name] was first coming on the scene. And I thought, “Wow, that’s beautiful, but I don’t see it ever taking off,” but lo and behold. It happens so quickly, these naming trends. It’s like we all collectively decide, “Only these names!” Like clothing styles, I suppose.

I think it’ll get more popular, but not overly so. I really like it as well.

Out of those nn choices, my favorite is [name]Fifi[/name].

I [name]LOVE[/name] this. My favourite nickname is Sepphie which isn’t on your list…but its my favourite.

I think Seri is the cutest nickname for [name]Seraphina[/name]. Yes, [name]Seraphina[/name] will probably become quite a bit more popular due to its use by a celebrity; however, Seri probably won’t be everyone’s nickname choice. I could see a lot of people using [name]Sera[/name]/[name]Sara[/name]/[name]Sarah[/name] as a nickname for this name, so Seri would still be unique.

It became more popular few years ago when [name]Jennifer[/name] [name]Garner[/name] chose it for her daughter. But it’s not THAT popular like [name]Chloe[/name] or [name]Isabella[/name] or [name]Kate[/name]. So go for it!!
I love Phina and I think it’s the cutest nn ever.

I agree with @niusity. It was pretty much unknown when [name]Jennifer[/name] [name]Garner[/name] used it for her daughter about 3 years ago. I would have thought that if it was going to get much popular, it would have by now. I think it may get into the top 1000, but I don’t expect it to go very high, certainly not past the 700 mark, but I could be wrong, of course. I don’t think it’ll be the next [name]Isabella[/name] by a long shot, though (although it has similar qualities in feel and appeal).

I quite like [name]Seraphina[/name], I’ve been considering it as a MN ([name]Eva[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name]), but I doubt I would ever use it as a FN. It’s just a bit over-the-top for me, but I would love seeing it on someone else’s little girl! I’m with @whirligig–my favorite nn is Sephie, which isn’t mentioned, but I think it’s darling. Out of your options, I guess I like Phina the best, although I like it spelled [name]Fina[/name] more, personally. I like [name]Fifi[/name] for a little girl, too.

i love seraphina. I htink that it became known after [name]Jennifer[/name] [name]Garner[/name] chose it but has not been used too much yet bc it isnot that popular so the association with [name]Jennifer[/name] [name]Garner[/name] might be too new still. thats what i think anyway, i love it but wouldnt use it yet until it has been a bit more time. i could see it really rising over hte next 20 years as i think it is very beautiful adn similar ot the isabella and sophia popular naems. sera is a nice nickname and more simple which is another appeal of the name. sara is popular and i htink sera is a nice update

[name]Love[/name] [name]Seraphina[/name]! I only became very familiar with it after meeting a lovely girl with the name, otherwise I haven’t met another person with the name. She mostly went by the nn [name]Fina[/name] which is the nicest out of your list but I prefer Sephie for childhood, [name]Fina[/name] or Raphi (Raffie) for teenage young adult years, and the full name for adult years.

I know it mainly because of the [name]Golden[/name] Compass series. I think it’s a nice name, doubt it will ever become popular given how unique it is. It’s similar to names like [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Clementine[/name]–has it’s niche “market”.
