Seraphine or Zelenia?

Partner suggested to me [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] (I suggested [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] but he prefers [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]) and I quite like it. It’s a play on my middle name and my partners late mums name - [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I really like it, except that I already have a name on my list that is somewhat similar and I like the meaning a bit more - [name_f]Zelenia[/name_f]. It means The [name_f]Moon[/name_f] or [name_f]Moon[/name_f] [name_f]Goddess[/name_f], but what I love about it is that the nickname I want to use for it [name_f]Zelie[/name_f], comes from the [name_m]French[/name_m] and Spanish names [name_f]Solenne[/name_f] and [name_f]Solena[/name_f] which means ‘Sunlight’. I love how it could mean both [name_f]Moon[/name_f] and [name_f]Sun[/name_f].

[name_f]Zelenia[/name_f] is the one has the most meaning to me, but [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] just looks and sounds pretty to me.

*Averlie [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is still my top choice but I’m constantly on the search for more names that I can add to my list ready for when me and my partner start trying again for baby #2.

I prefer [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] but I don’t mind [name_f]Zelenia[/name_f] all that much.

On the meaning front, it depends how specific you want to get. [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] is a possible nickname for [name_m]Sol[/name_m]ène (among other names), a variant of Solange, which doesn’t actually mean sun, it comes from Latin Sollemnia which means “religious”. However, its association with ‘sol’ meaning sun likely contributed to its use. So sun is not the actual origin of that name, but you might still like the association with sun.

In my opinion, [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] is the best choice since it has better nickname potential and, [name_f]Zelenia[/name_f] being quite the rare name you wouldnt want your daughter to hate her name growing up (trust me, ive been through this)! So since you find [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] prettier then maybe you should just go for it!
Though, if time passes and you still feel like [name_f]Zelenia[/name_f] means more to you then you should use it

From what you’ve written there, it seems like it’s [name_f]Zelenia[/name_f] that you really love, so if your partner loves it too I say go for it. I’ve never heard this name before, and I am not sure how I feel about it (I prefer [name_f]Selene[/name_f]/[name_f]Selena[/name_f], overall), but I certainly can see the appeal. The meaning. The nickname [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] (how cute!). The moon and sun. [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] is my top choice for a girl so I can’t really vote against it, but [name_f]Zelenia[/name_f] is pretty awesome too!

I really like [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]. It has a lovely sound.

I’m not really sure how to pronounce [name_f]Zelenia[/name_f]. Is it zuh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-nee-uh or zuh-LEH-nee-uh?

If it’s pronounced zuh-[name_m]LEN[/name_m]-ya or zuh-LEEN-ya then I like it. I don’t like [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f]/[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f]
