So basically my Mum recently died unexpectedly, her name was [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]. We often spoke about names, had completely different tastes!! But [name_u]Seren[/name_u] was a name we both agreed on. I really love it with my son’s name ([name_u]Finn[/name_u])… But I want to have [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] as a middle name and not sure about all the S sounds. Having said that, I barely ever use my son’s middle name ([name_m]Alexander[/name_m]), and maybe it’d just be nice to have Mum’s name there but it doesn’t need to be mentioned all the time! Thoughts please?
I say go for it! I actually quite like [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] as a combo, and though i agree that the flow isn’t ideal, the meaning behind it far more important imo. And as you say it already, the middle name is rarely used.
I am sorry for the loss of your mom. [name_f]Serena[/name_f] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is lovely and such a nice way to honour her.
It’s [name_u]Seren[/name_u], not [name_f]Serena[/name_f].
I’d go for it. It will be poignant for your daughter to have - and chat with you about - your mother’s name. They’re both gorgeous.
I am sorry for your loss. [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is stunning and actually flows very well. Go for it.
I’m so sorry for your loss. [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is elegant, beautiful, and flows perfectly. I think the similar sounds compliment each other while not being overly matchy.
I think [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] sounds just fine, but I’d brace yourself for a lot of corrections exactly like this one.
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is gorgeous. I love the alliteration, I love how unexpected this combination feels. Stunning.
I’m so sorry to learn about the passing of your mother. I definitely think you should go with [name_u]Seren[/name_u] Cecilia. You will never regret honoring your mother.
I like it and think having both liked [name_u]Seren[/name_u] is a nice nod. It means a lot to me too when you actually have a common favorite with someone you love.
I think it’s lovely. As much as pattern and sound can be important, I think when it comes down to honouring someone, the way it feels and matters to you is so much more important than aesthetics so I’d say go for it. I’m sorry for your loss.
Thanks so much everyone. It means a lot, I think we will see this as a real option now . Nice to think if next baby is a girl she’ll be a link to Mum almost.
Haha good point. Although I feel like I’m permanently braced for these … I gave my little boy what I thought was the simplest name, but he gets called [name_u]Finley[/name_u], Fyn, [name_u]Flynn[/name_u]… It’s amazing how they can even get [name_u]Finn[/name_u] wrong!
Urggh, auto-correct! I meant it to say [name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]. Thank you.
Sorry for your loss:(
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] is beautiful and it’s so nice how it’s honoring your mother
