I agree with the double k being a little off putting, I also see how [name]Quinton[/name] and [name]Karina[/name] are a bit rhymy… While it wouldn’t quite make me cringe I would definitely choose [name]Serena[/name] based on these factors.

[name]Hi[/name],

Sorry you’re having a hard time! Personally I just much prefer the name [name]Serena[/name]. [name]Karina[/name] is fine but I don’t love it as much, and it feels “off” style wise with [name]Quinton[/name] (which I love!).

I do sometimes like alliteration, like [name]Serena[/name] [name]Smith[/name] for example would be great, but the double K thing bothers me a little. [name]One[/name] because its so overdone by the Kardashians! Ha. And two, since your surname is unusual it feels a little bit like a mouthful to me!

I’d say, if he’s not onboard with [name]Serena[/name], and you’re feeling a little pressurised in to [name]Karina[/name], maybe you should go back to the drawing board. [name]Both[/name] give up your favourites, and agree to find a name you mutually love?

You both seem to like 3 syllable names with the “ina” ending, how about:

[name]Melina[/name]
[name]Selena[/name]
[name]Verena[/name]
[name]Amina[/name]/[name]Amena[/name]
[name]Alina[/name]
Belina
Talina
[name]Savina[/name]
Safina
[name]Sabina[/name]
[name]Angelina[/name]
[name]Evelina[/name]
Isolina
[name]Evangelina[/name]
[name]Adelina[/name]

Or something with a slightly different sound, but a similar feel and rhythm:

[name]Milena[/name]
[name]Elena[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Alanna[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Gisela[/name]
[name]Gabriella[/name]
[name]Mariella[/name]
[name]Mirabella[/name]
[name]Arabella[/name]
[name]Annabella[/name]
[name]Mirella[/name]
[name]Talitha[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Linnea[/name]
[name]Sophia[/name]
[name]Annia[/name]
[name]Savannah[/name]
[name]Sienna[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]

I hope that helps some! If you want more suggestions in a different style, let me know!

[name]Carina[/name]?
I actually knew someone with the initials KKK… At least K.K. isn’t a hatemonger organization!
I sense your in-laws may have ethnic or cultural reasons for their push, in which case a happy compromise could be [name]Ekaterina[/name], [name]Ana[/name]-[name]Karina[/name], or something along those lines.

I love [name]Serena[/name]! I think it sounds so much better with your ln and [name]Quinton[/name] and [name]Serena[/name] are so much more distinctive and well-suited for each other than [name]Karina[/name]! [name]Karina[/name] is nice, but it also feels a bit dated to me, whereas [name]Serena[/name] is fresh and oh-so-lovely.

Good luck!

Thanks for the great responses! and makes me love [name]Serena[/name] even more! But I agree, maybe we will both have to scrap our names and come up with some new ideas…

[name]Melina[/name] is very nice!
[name]Linnea[/name] as well!
I really liked [name]Gisela[/name] too…

[name]Quinton[/name] was so easy to pick! I think it’s harder for us women to name our daughters, am I right?

I actually love the way double K’s sound. So I picked [name]Karina[/name]. I think its gorgeous together.

[name]Serena[/name] is one of my favorite names! It’s beautiful and uncommon, which is perfect in my book! Definitely gets my vote!
