I would love to have opinions on the baby name Porter. We have both agreed on this name, but I want to hear all the positive and negative comments now before the baby is here . We are going with Porter Grant
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] yes, [name_m]Grant[/name_m] Iâm not sure flows well with it. Iâd prefer something classic as a middle like [name_u]Porter[/name_u] [name_u]James[/name_u], or something quirky like [name_u]Porter[/name_u] [name_m]Gage[/name_m]
On the positive, I feel like it fits right on trend without being overly popular. And in general I feel like itâs a pretty solid choice. The only negative I can think of is if he ends up a little on the chubby side, the name could lead to the nickname âportlyâ but tbh honest I know most elementary aged kids wouldnât know that word, and most middle schoolers I feel wouldnât think of it either.
Absolutely love [name_u]Porter[/name_u]!
I think [name_u]Porter[/name_u] has this cool surname vibe that feels fashionable without being trendy. [name_u]Porter[/name_u] is handsome and a name I suggest a lot. I think [name_u]Porter[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is great.
I love [name_u]Porter[/name_u]! I have only had positive associations with [name_u]Porter[/name_u] and I know it was a serious contender for a friend of mine.
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is serious, sturdy and substantial! I feel this name fits multi generationally and also is not boxed into a certain theme
Itâs a great name!!
I work at a daycare, and I know one [name_u]Porter[/name_u] and quite a few Grants.
I donât really like occupation / surname names, and considering [name_u]Porter[/name_u] literally means âone who carries luggage for other people,â I donât really think itâs a good name for a kiddo.
And I know this may sound silly, but every single [name_m]Grant[/name_m] I have worked with was a demon.
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] doesnât really flow well, and it sounds like the first and last name of somebodyâs grandpa.
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] is really charming and interesting
I personally donât really like most surnames as first names but [name_u]Porter[/name_u] is nice for someone else. [name_u]Porter[/name_u] reminds me of [name_m]Potter[/name_m] which reminds me of [name_u]Harry[/name_u] [name_m]Potter[/name_m].
I am a fan of the last-names-as-first-names and occupations-as-first-names trend, so I really like this! I think it flows nicely, is unusual enough to be cool without being weird, and on-trend without actually being âtrendyâ if that makes any sense.
I like it
Cool name!
[name_u]Porter[/name_u] [name_m]Grant[/name_m] is so handsome. Iâm not normally a fan of [name_u]Porter[/name_u], but paired with [name_m]Grant[/name_m] it sounds charming and distinguished, like a celebrityâs name.
Haha that is exactly who he would be named after ⌠first name of my dad is [name_m]Grant[/name_m]!
Thanks for all your opinions! I wanted to hear the good and bad before rather than after the baby is born. So I think we have a boy name, now for a girl since we arenât finding out gender !
I usually dislike occupation names, but this just makes me think of [name_m]Cole[/name_m] [name_u]Porter[/name_u] (who is a legend) so I am on board!
