We need help! [name_u]Baby[/name_u] no. 3 is almost here - our first girl - and we cannot decide on a name. We’re not even close!
I am hoping to get some opinions about the names we have listed below, as well as some new suggestions. Please pair up with your fave version of her middle name.
Her middle name will be either [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Mariann[/name_f] or [name_f]Mariana[/name_f]. Last name ends with -er. Her brothers are [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] and [name_m]Maxton[/name_m].
Brynelle – prefer just [name_f]Brynn[/name_f], which I really like.
[name_u]Marley[/name_u]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]
The others fall in-between, and are good solid and pretty names that just don’t speak to me (or I prefer another variation, e.g. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] over [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]).
Yes, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] has been in discussion a lot lately! I think [name_u]Alex[/name_u], [name_u]Max[/name_u] & [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is adorable. It is also a maybe for him, as you can see his list is full of well-known classics.
Thank you for the middle name parings! That seems to be the hardest part for me. I like your faves!
I know… Brynelle may be eliminated. I like [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] for a nn, but prefer the longer full name. I read a lot of comments about [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] being confused with [name_m]Bryan[/name_m] - something that would drive me crazy. I’m thinking we have better options to choose from.
[name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], & [name_f]Kinsey[/name_f] are my faves from your lists. I think [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f] or [name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Mariann[/name_f] would be pretty. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] & [name_f]Kinsey[/name_f] [name_f]Mariann[/name_f] or [name_f]Kinsey[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] sound nice to me. All three would pair well with [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] & [name_m]Maxton[/name_m].
I’m a big fan of [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f] & [name_f]Kinley[/name_f], so I would add those suggestions… [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f] [name_f]Mariann[/name_f], [name_f]Kinsley[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Kinley[/name_f] [name_f]Mariann[/name_f], or [name_f]Kinley[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].
My faves from your list are [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] from his.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Mariann[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Mariann[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Mariann[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]/[name_f]Mariann[/name_f]
These names are very trendy and I don’t find them very attractive. I don’t think they age well due to the name themselves or their spellings.
[name_f]Brielle[/name_f] - lacks substance and very trendy with all of the other “Br” names.
[name_u]Arya[/name_u] - bad spelling. Shame on Game of Thrones.
[name_u]Marley[/name_u] - not with the Twerking [name_f]Queen[/name_f] on the scene
Brynelle - made up
[name_f]Kinsey[/name_f] - like the sexual behaviour studies?
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] - I would put this name on “my” like list if you spelled it correctly. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is ancient and spunky. [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] is odd looking and trendy.
He likes [name_f]Emily[/name_f], you like names a bit less common, how about [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]? Or [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]? [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is really pretty!
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_f]Mariane[/name_f]/a
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is also really pretty! My favourite of the middles is [name_f]Marie[/name_f].
I have to agree with mischa-- you have a very interesting mix of styles in your frontrunners. It’s not so common to be attracted to such disparate names.

[name_f]Brielle[/name_f]
[name_u]Arya[/name_u]
[name_u]Marley[/name_u]
Brynelle
[name_f]Kinsey[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] (though the original [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] would be a classic)
[name_u]Sydney[/name_u]
pretty and feminine
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Summer[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Katerina[/name_f]
[name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] is obviously an ancient classic, and [name_m]Maxton[/name_m] has more of a contemporary vibe but is still an old surname. Based on that I’d eliminate the middle category and choose either a classic first or a feminine one.
To eliminate- [name_f]Summer[/name_f] doesn’t have the same stately, grown-up feel as to the other ‘pretty & feminine’ names. From the classics, [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Lauren[/name_f] are much much more commonly used than the others (particularly the quite rare [name_f]Davina[/name_f]). [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is enjoying a big renaissance right now as it fits in well with the trendy -lyn names (like [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f], [name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f], [name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f], etc). And of course [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] is mega-popular.
[name_f]Marie[/name_f] is such an easy middle name-- almost every first sounds good paired with it. I love the elaborate, beautiful [name_f]Mariana[/name_f] which will work with all of the name choices not ending with a (i.e. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Mariana[/name_f]). The -a names sound great with [name_f]Marie[/name_f] ([name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]).
I think it depends on how popular you’d like your daughter’s name to be, but you have many lovely options.
Some of the other names I liked, but didn’t feel that they went as well with your sibset. I always love [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but for some reason I feel like [name_f]Summer[/name_f] is my favourite, it really breathes fresh air!
I love this critical review of some of our favorites. I like names for many different reasons (obviously with such an eclectic list) and it’s good to hear a different view. Your opinion of [name_u]Marley[/name_u] made me laugh out loud! [name_m]Bob[/name_m] [name_u]Marley[/name_u] anyone?!
We definitely find more common ground with the ageless classics and it seems that list is viewed as more respectable. I keep looking for the perfect fit with my boys with strong meanings, however respectable is more readily found.
