She’s here/help with middle name

Okay momma’s yall have helped so much with your opinions & now we have first name narrowed down. When She was born I knew what first name fit her out of our choices & have a gut feeling on middle name but I’m back asking for help on what sounds best, plus weighing pros/cons [name_f][/name_f]. First name is [name_f]Alexis[/name_f], nickname will def be [name_f]Lexi[/name_f], & maybe even [name_m]Alexi[/name_m], [name_m]Lex[/name_m] [name_f]Lexa[/name_f], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] etc. [name_f]Love[/name_f] nickname [name_f]Lexi[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (if middle name is Marie) but wanting your thoughts on these last 3 choices one last time… Tell me your thoughts & opinions, vibes & favorite name combo. Like if someone told u these names in announcement, what combo sounds best.

[name_f][/name_f]

Here’s last 3 middle name options, with pros & cons

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (I adore nn [name_f]Lexi[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], but with [name_f]Marie[/name_f], I feel its more common & I cant get as many nn options like with [name_f]Selena[/name_f] although I feel [name_f]Marie[/name_f] pairs well, & softens [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] & maybe gives more of a classy, elegant simplistic sound which is not bad either)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Selena[/name_f] (I feel it gives more sparkly, celestial, sleek, sound with many nicknames options if you use [name_f]Selena[/name_f], example, [name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_f]Alena[/name_f], [name_f]Selena[/name_f], selene, [name_f]Selah[/name_f], etc but feel [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is more classy & elegant. I also know ppl will assume I named her this bc growing up my idol was [name_f]Selena[/name_f], so have a feeling ill get negative feedback bc of the association bur I genuinely love the name)

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f] (sophisticated, celestial, sounds sleek, but doesnt give the same nn options as the other two middles, not necessarily a name that ive always just loved but also feel it pairs well. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though I feel [name_f]Celine[/name_f] pairs better, The fact that ive always loved the name [name_f]Selena[/name_f] & not so much [name_f]Celine[/name_f] makes me feel if im going with [name_f]Celine[/name_f], then I may as well go with [name_f]Selena[/name_f] which is a name [name_m]Ive[/name_m] always loved & baby girl would have two names I love but may not pair as well or be as simple & classy if I go with [name_f]Marie[/name_f], which I feel like [name_f]Marie[/name_f] gives the most adorable Nickname to pair with Lexi) i literally cant get [name_f]Lexi[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] out of my vocab & head but feel I may regret not using [name_f]Celine[/name_f] or [name_f]Selena[/name_f] which to me are prettier names but different sounds entirely. Tell me your thoughts on personal dilemma & favorites.

I vote [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]! It’s the one you always come back to. And though [name_f]Marie[/name_f] may have been a popular middle back in the day, it’s not as common now. And personally I find [name_f]Marie[/name_f] to be a charming and overlooked classic.

Thank you for the feedback :heartpulse:

I personally love the flow of [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

But I think you should go with your gut. Congratulations on your little girl [name_f][/name_f]. [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] is a beautiful name [name_f][/name_f]!

I think [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Selina[/name_f] would be my choice for you [name_f][/name_f]- it’s the one that you seem to really love out of these and [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Selena[/name_f] is sparky and bright!

Big congrats! :gift_heart:

[name_f][/name_f]

I would personally go [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], because I love Lexi-Marie! You could also go Lexi-May, Allie-May, [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] & Ximi (Zimi).

[name_f][/name_f]

I don’t love the S ending of [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] going into the S of [name_f]Selena[/name_f]. But it does have a nice rhythm and probably flows well to your last name? It also seems like your heart’s fave. I wouldn’t worry about the [name_f]Selena[/name_f] comments [name_f][/name_f]- very few people hear let alone ask about middle names, after the initial announcement, and people can think what they like, it’s your daughter. Don’t let their one off and only slightly possible joke/teasing stop you using it. Besides, everyone likes [name_f]Selena[/name_f]! [name_f]Sissy[/name_f] is another nn you could use with this combo.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Celine[/name_f] is very sleek and tailored [name_f][/name_f]- it looks the smartest visually. I love -ine names but I don’t love [name_f]Celine[/name_f] for some reason. It also doesn’t get around the S clashing sounds and is more restrictive sounding than [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Selena[/name_f]. I prefer [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f] or a non S -ine name.

[name_f][/name_f]

So after all that (lol), I think [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Selena[/name_f]! Maybe flow to last name is the clincher?

I would encourage you to go with your gut feeling. We can have detailed arguments for and against each name but trusting your instincts is a really solid way to make a decision that you will feel good about in the future. It sounds like your instinct is leading you towards [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

I would also add, nicknames are out of our control as our child gets older and takes ownership of their name, so I wouldn’t put too much weight on having lots of options. Combining sounds from the first name and middle name will naturally be more tenuous and may not have longevity as nicknames. There’s just too many unknowns to hinge the decision on this.

[name_f][/name_f]

Lastly, instead of anticipating possible regret, another way to look at it is this: There will always be names we love but can’t use. We can love those names even if we don’t use them. It can help to frame those names as: not the right timing or not right for this particular baby.

[name_f][/name_f]

Congratulations on your daughter’s arrival! All the best with your decision.

Celine or even Selene have been favorites of mine for a
long time – nn Lena -
Not as cohesive as Marie with Lexie (way too sing songy ) - but Lena by
itself is lovely

Congratulations, mama, and welcome to the world, baby [name_f]Lexi[/name_f]! [name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] I think all the options are lovely; you can’t lose either way! [name_f][/name_f] But [name_f]Lexi[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] and [name_f]Selena[/name_f] feel especially close to your heart. [name_f][/name_f] Would [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Selena[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] be an option? [name_f][/name_f] That way you can have both [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] but also the nn options with [name_f]Selena[/name_f], and you can have both [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] and [name_f]Selena[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] If not that, I think my vote is [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] I prefer [name_f]Selena[/name_f] myself but it sounds like [name_f]Lexi[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] really has your heart. [name_f][/name_f] The simplicity of [name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is very sweet and timeless and gives you a nn you really love.

[name_f][/name_f]

Good luck!

[name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] by far as it flows the best. I like the nick names too, all but [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] due to the commercial use of the name.

[name_f]Alexis[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] for sure. It sounds like you like it most and I think it flows best. I don’t like how the S sounds smush together in the other two options.
