Shea Ireland for a girl...

What do you think? We have an irish last name too.

I’m not the biggest fan to be honest… I just think of body butter! And [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] is a bit unimaginative, I think, to pair with an Irish surname. Have you thought of more classic Irish names like [name_f]Eimear[/name_f] or [name_f]Aoife[/name_f], or Eibbhleann (pronounced Avelyn) which I love! Obviously personal taste again, if you love it go for it! X

Actually, I really like the sound of it. It flows very well. [name_u]Shea[/name_u] is kinda a GP of mine though, so maybe my answer is biased.

I think if you have an Irish surname and [name_u]Shea[/name_u] as a first name, [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] is a bridge too far - like you’re screaming “WE’RE IRISH!” to the world. I don’t love [name_u]Shea[/name_u] but have no particular reason why (just personal preference I guess) - there’s nothing objectively wrong with it.

Thanks for the feedback! We really like unisex names and [name_u]Shea[/name_u] is the frontrunner head of [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] too.

I love it! I know someone named [name_u]Shea[/name_u] and she has always loved her name! [name_u]Shea[/name_u] [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] flow very well imo!

Neither name is my personal style but I think they sound fine together. I’ve known girls named [name_u]Shae[/name_u] and [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] so I view both names as feminine.

It instantly reminded me of a [name_m]French[/name_m] restaurant name! Like Chez [name_f]Ireland[/name_f], does that make sense?

I love [name_u]Shea[/name_u] [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] personally. I think it’s beautiful!

I love it!!!

Thats so funny you said that! Someone mentioned that on another board too and I didn’t get it until you phonetically spelled it out ;). I think [name_u]Shea[/name_u] could be misconstrued with any middle name then huh.

I think for me it would mostly just be with the place name, because then it really just sounds like a place name. You could be right though, might just be an association I and a few others would make with any [name_u]Shea[/name_u]---- name. (Totally weird, not even french, probably because I was just at Chez [name_f]Cora[/name_f] this weekend haha)

That is true. We have a little boy named [name_m]Zane[/name_m] and I felt with every middle name it sound like [name_m]Saint[/name_m] ___. I must have a thing for difficult first names to match

I like [name_u]Shae[/name_u] [name_f]Ireland[/name_f]. My favourite though, would be [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] from your list. [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] or [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] [name_u]Shae[/name_u] would be lovely too.

Thanks! It’s so hard to pick!

And I just have to be different … I love [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] the best:) I can just imagine that name on a beautiful baby girl!

good luck…

I like [name_u]Shay[/name_u] and [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] both separately, but not so much together. Like another poster said, [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] feels so literal and I also think of some green shea butter or something. I think both being nouns as well as names they really bring out ‘thing’ imagery instead of picturing a person.

Another thing to consider is that [name_u]Shae[/name_u] sounds like chez in french. Saying Chez [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] would be like saying “at the home or business of [name_f]Ireland[/name_f]”.

I love the first name [name_u]Shea[/name_u]! I do not think it pairs well with [name_f]Ireland[/name_f] though. I agree with other users that it sounds more like a place or a product than a little girl. I think [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] [name_u]Shea[/name_u] or [name_u]Shea[/name_u] [name_u]Rowen[/name_u] are beautiful together. I also like the names [name_f]Rhonwen[/name_f], [name_u]Cassidy[/name_u], and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] with [name_u]Shea[/name_u].

I like it! But i can see how it might be a bit over the top with an Irish last name as well… I think I’d consider other middles maybe.

Thanks! This is still the front runner name. Only a few weeks left!!!
