I never was into [name]Shelley[/name]…but now I’m thinking of just [name]Shell[/name] as a possible cute word name/nature name.
What does everyone think of [name]Shell[/name]?

I think it could work as a middle. I don’t think I’d use it as a first since it sounds so very much like a nickname. It would be like naming your kid Jaym instead of [name]Jamie[/name].
I was good friends in grade school with a girl named [name]Shelley[/name] and we called her [name]Shell[/name].
It would only work as a middle. It reminds me off a pseudo-nn for [name]Shelley[/name], like “Laur” for [name]Laura[/name], “Lees” for [name]Lisa[/name], or “Care” for [name]Cara[/name].
Could be nice as a nickname for [name]Rochelle[/name], [name]Nichelle[/name], [name]Michelle[/name] or [name]Shelby[/name]. [name]Kinda[/name] cute.
[name]Shelby[/name] is adorable.
[name]Don[/name]'t care for [name]Shell[/name] as a name in itself, but I did know a [name]Michelle[/name] who went by [name]Shell[/name], which I thought was cute. I agree with pp that [name]Shelby[/name] would be a good full name for it too.
I would only use as a mn cause as a fn I think people would end up calling her [name]Shelly[/name] or [name]Shelby[/name]. I don’t really like either of those but I like [name]Shell[/name] for the nature symbolism & soft sound…similarly I love [name]Elle[/name] & [name]Ella[/name] but not [name]Ellie[/name]!
It’s not bad
[name]Chelle[/name] is a legit name if you’re just going for sound
I like [name]Shell[/name] better.
It seems insubstantial to me in the first name spot, but I think that it could be a really cute middle name.
