Hubby and I just found out a couple days ago that our first child is going to be a little girl! We both absolutely love the name [name]Fiona[/name] and have been calling her this. Her middle name will be [name]Ryann[/name] (pronounced the same as [name]Ryan[/name]) after my brother and also my Mammaw, whose middle name was [name]Ann[/name] like mine. The only possible drawback is that our last name starts with N. I’m probably just overthinking it, but what do you think about the N situation with [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Ryann[/name] N.?
[name]Fiona[/name] is one of my favorite names! [name]Fiona[/name] Nlastname isn’t ideal, but it certainly won’t cause her any problems. Instead of [name]Ryann[/name], which (even though it honors) seems kind of trendy, have you considered [name]Rhiannon[/name]? [name]Ann[/name] is right there in the middle, and it sounds like [name]Ryan[/name]. Now that I think of it, though, there are actually more Ns than [name]Ryann[/name]…
Either way, [name]Fiona[/name] is a lovely name, and her full name will rarely be said out loud. I don’t think it’s a problem!
Thanks for the reassurance!
We’re pretty attached to [name]Fiona[/name] [name]Ryann[/name], but I just keep saying [name]Fiona[/name] Nlastname and I’m still not sure about the flow. At least we have about 4 months left to decide, and I’m always open to suggestions. Here’s an idea of some other names that I like a lot, if anyone would like to use them as a jumping off point to suggest some other names:
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Vivica[/name]
[name]Daisha[/name]
[name]Krista[/name]
[name]Thalia[/name]
[name]Ariel[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Lily[/name]
I do love [name]Fiona[/name], but I see how it might be an issue with an N surname. What about [name]Finola[/name]? Something like [name]Finola[/name] Nichols sounds much better than [name]Fiona[/name] Nichols, yet the names are quite similar in style and image. [name]Finola[/name] [name]Ryann[/name]?
[name]Lemon[/name]
Definitely doesn’t work with our particular N last name, but thank you. And for some reason [name]Finola[/name] makes me think canola…like the oil.
Okay, going off of your short list - feminine, fun, and flirty! - here are some more ideas:
[name]Alessia[/name]
[name]Carina[/name]
[name]Estella[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Gisela[/name]
[name]Katya[/name]
[name]Lucia[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Natalia[/name]
[name]Regina[/name]
[name]Simona[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
Good luck!

Please don’t let the flow of a middle name discourage you from a name you love with a special meaning. You RARELY ever use a middle name. At least the only time I do is filling out forms.
Oh no, we’re dead set on using [name]Ryann[/name] as the middle name. Thanks for the encouragement!
Hubby and I have talked about it and agreed that we feel [name]Fiona[/name] does sound really pretty, even with our last name. Pretty sure that’s the one. Thanks for everyone’s input! ![]()
