She's arrived but need help with name!

[name]Hi[/name] everyone I’m just grabbing a moment to announce my beautiful 9lb baby girl is here, she was born on jan 12(yesterday) and she is simply gorgeous. I have a dilemma with naming her still.I posted here quite a few times over the past months and thought when I saw her one name would leap out at me but unfortunately-not.I have actually registered her : [name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] but now I’m not sure if I should change [name]Maia[/name] to something else (I love the meaning of the name, how it looks ,but now am not sure 100% if it sounds the best with the surname,ie [name]Maia[/name] also not sure if [name]May[/name]-a or my-ah sounds better with although you all advised me of the correct pronounciation-my-a. My daughter certainly has a cheerful, upbeat contented disposition and has rarely cried(I’m soo blessed). So ,to clarify; none of the 3 chosen names are set in stone (my husband likes [name]Isabel[/name])and I do but I don’t want it as her first name.I like [name]Julia[/name] but again not necessarily as her first name so these names are all subject to being left out or changed even to a 2 forename name. When she was born my first reaction was [name]Emilia[/name] .I think it suits her nature and some of you especially [name]Susan[/name] highly recommended it to me.WDYT?Also if I go with [name]Emilia[/name] would you keep any of the other names I mentioned or have any of you got any enlightening ideas?By the way my own first name starts with s…Thank you all so much for your help and kindnes’

Congrats on your baby girl!

I like [name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Julia[/name] [name]Deane[/name]. I think it’s pretty, but I can see [name]Maia[/name] having pronounciation issues, like, I know it’s supposed to be pr. My-ah but I always want to say [name]May[/name]-ah! Another concern is that [name]Julia[/name] doesn’t really flow, it’s not that awkward but it’s not that melodic either. I’m not sure if that bothers you or not. I feel like maybe if you have a softer name in [name]Julia[/name]'s spot the whole name might flow better. For example

[name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Pheobe[/name] [name]Deane[/name] (although maybe not the best suggestion because of the long Eee sounds in [name]Pheobe[/name] and [name]Deane[/name]) maybe…
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Pheobe[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Flora[/name] [name]Deane[/name]

Or other names along those lines - a name with a softer start than the hard J sound that [name]Julia[/name] has (although I do like [name]Julia[/name], don’t get me wrong, it’s a very pretty name!)

Ohh so I also just said [name]Maia[/name] [name]Deane[/name] aloud a few times and it sounds kind of weird, [name]Maia[/name] flows into Deans and just sounds like myadean, which is weird. [name]Do[/name] you like [name]Maia[/name] only as a first or would you put it in a middle spot? I also wouldn’t use [name]Pheobe[/name] as a first name because of the similar sounds, as I mentioned above. Here’s a few suggestions…

[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Pheobe[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Maia[/name] [name]Isabel/name [name]Deane[/name]
(O)[name]Livia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Deane[/name] (either [name]Olivia[/name] or [name]Livia[/name] would be pretty but [name]Livia[/name] would have to be constantly saying she is not [name]Olivia[/name], just a thought)
(O)[name]Livia[/name] [name]Pheobe[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Deane[/name]

Congratulations, I think that [name]Maia[/name] [name]Deane[/name] is a pretty name. It is becoming more popular so pronunciation issues shouldn’t be too much of an issue.

I suggested this name for my future granddaughter and immediately Dad thought of the chain of [name]Myer[/name] stores which completely amazed me as I had never seen the connection till then.

[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Deane[/name] is very pretty too.
I think that [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Deane[/name] or [name]Julia[/name] [name]Deane[/name] are lovely and would work really well but if you aren’t mad about them in the fn position it won’t work for you.

It sounds like she is really [name]Emilia[/name] to you so for combos now

[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Anastasia[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Deane[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Julia[/name] [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Deane[/name]

[name]Hi[/name] - Congratulations on your beautiful new baby!
I like [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] or [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Susannah[/name]. Let us know!

You’ve gotten some great suggestions. With your name being [name]Susan[/name] and having a short last name – I think the suggestion of [name]Emilia[/name] [name]Susannah[/name] (with or without an additional middle name) would be marvelous!

I love [name]Maia[/name] [name]Deane[/name]…great flow I think and I personally like that spelling of [name]Maia[/name]; but if your first instinct was [name]Emilia[/name] then I would go with that
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Deane[/name] sounds great too!
[name]Emilia[/name] [name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Deane[/name] looks great I think.
Good luck! Let us know what you choose

Thanks to all for your prompt replies. My mind just seems very unsure about everything at the moment. But now that I’ve said it a few times I think [name]Maia[/name] [name]Deane[/name] does run together too much so I’m forgetting it altogther. One minute I love emilia but then I wonder is it a bit much for my tastes. [name]Laura[/name],[name]Olivia[/name],[name]Cora[/name],[name]Emma[/name],[name]Jane[/name] ,[name]Emily[/name].All my children have 2 syllable first names so what works best?

Some combo suggestions…

I’m glad you liked some suggestions! My favourites of these are [name]Alice[/name] [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Deane[/name] (I think this goes really well with your other daughter - same flow) and [name]Cora[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Deane[/name], but I kind of like just [name]Cora[/name] [name]Isabel[/name] [name]Deane[/name] better, it has a great flow!

Thanks a million Liz22 for your great ideas,I must give [name]Alice[/name] [name]OliviA[/name]

hi liz22

No problem, aife, all edited

Thanks a lot Liz22 .To justthinkin Yes [name]Emilia[/name] is beautiful, but at this point I seem to be looking for something simpler and maybe I’m thinking -easy to live with.Has anyone else experience this?I like [name]Maia[/name] one day then have doubts the very next day. What do I do when I’m feeling soo indecisive.Today I’m going back to liking : [name]Lara[/name] ,[name]Emma[/name],[name]Jane[/name].
