Shiloh Rose - too much O?

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have loved the name [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] for a few years. It is a little “out there” but paired with a familiar and feminine middle I think it works. We would really like to use the family name [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for our first daughter but do you think this works? [name_f]Do[/name_f] the names paired together have too much O?

Thanks for your opinions.

I think [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds great- but only if your last name isn’t very “o” heavy…

I agree! [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very pretty, but ideally your last name would be “o” free.

Thanks for the replies! My last name has an O in it but it sounds like -ah- it sounds like the O in Frost. My last name is two syllables and ends in and -er sound. What do you think?

No I don’t think [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is O heavy.
I like that you are pairing [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] with a classic middle name.
I think the name will be fine especially if the O in your last name is pronounced like -ah-.

I love it. I usually don’t really like the name [name_f]Rose[/name_f], but with [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] it has just the right balance of quirky and sweet. I have also liked the name [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] for a while, and I know a gorgeous little girl with that name and it suits her so well. I can see how you are worried with the ‘o’ sound, but to be honest I didn’t even think of it. [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a beautiful name!

Go for it

It’s a pretty combo

I think it has a perfect flow. The O sounds really blend the name together. It is beautiful.

It’s a very pretty combo.
I really like [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] sister loved that name.

I don’t think it’s too much “O.” The sounds of the O’s in these two names are different, [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] is a hard O sound and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has a softer O sound that doesn’t have any effect on [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] in my opinion.

If [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is of family signifance, the flow of [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] isn’t that important. Family trumps flow every time!

I think it’s a lovely combo – though there is obviously a little more O than other combos might possess I still think it sounds good. It doesn’t overwhelm at all.

I really like it! Like you said, it’s a unique but somewhat familiar name, and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] balances it perfectly. Go for it!

Thank you for all of your input! I am amazed at the love for [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]… I like it, but was leery of its flow. These responses have made me like the combo even more.

[name_u]Mischa[/name_u], I have other family names that could work in the middle and other names we would like in the first spot but I was just liking the idea of [name_u]Shiloh[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] today and wanted your expert opinions on the name’s sound and look.
