Any thoughts on this name? I had heard the name Shipley
on tv a few years ago and it never left me, but Shipton would
sound better with my last name which starts with an L.

I think there are several towns in [name]England[/name] with Shipton in the name. (Shipton-on-whatever Shipton-under-wherever etc.) so it really sounds like a place name to me.
Hmmm, I’m not really digging it. I like the ending “-ton”.
[name]Shepard[/name] is similar in sound and I think I’d like it better.
Oh yes and [name]Sheridan[/name], I love [name]Sheridan[/name].
