I know everyone on nameberry LOVES to suggest names! So here we go.
My favourite boys names, which my fiancee and I both love, are [name]Luca[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name]. If we have a boy in the future we are pretty sure that he will be named one of these.
Our dilemma (although not an urgent one by any means) is that we both don’t have any girls names that we love. We like some but nothing ever stands out.
My favourite girl’s name is [name]Beth[/name], which doesn’t go with our last name at all…she would be [name]Beth[/name] B**K (far too abrupt).
I also quite like [name]Chloe[/name], [name]Leia[/name] (but can’t have a [name]Luca[/name] and a [name]Leia[/name]- too star wars), and [name]Liza[/name]. I also have suggested [name]Eilish[/name]/[name]Ailish[/name] in the past which was immediately vetoed.
I have a soft spot for, but wouldn’t use [name]Dorothy[/name]. I also love Irish/Celtic names.
The girl name that he suggests often is [name]Emily[/name] which I don’t like at all.
So please suggest girls names!
Criteria:
Please no names that will only be used to get me to a nice nickname- for example please don’t suggest [name]Elizabeth[/name] as a way to get to [name]Beth[/name]. [name]Just[/name] a personal naming preference.
Also if possible, try to avoid names that an American and an Australian would pronounce differently as this is the reality in our family! For example names that end in ‘er’ we would pronounce differently. This isn’t a strict criteria…just something that may cause us to rule out a name!
Your L names made me think of:
Leisel
[name]Lila[/name]
Leely
Instead of [name]Dorothy[/name], there’s always [name]Dolly[/name] (which I love with [name]Ann[/name]: [name]Dolly[/name] [name]Ann[/name])
Instead of [name]Ailish[/name], there’s [name]Alicia[/name] and Alaisha
I thought you might like [name]Bethany[/name] or [name]Bettina[/name] as these would both work well with you last name. It seems you favor shorter names so here’s some suggestions:
