Short and sweet Scandinavian / Nordic name for a baby boy?

Hi! We need a name for a baby number 3! :evergreen_tree:

I am Finnish, my husband is Italian and we live in Italy. I would like to find a nordic name or a name with nordic feeling that is still very easy to pronounce and write all around the world (especially in Italy). I have already checked out all the name lists I can find… Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian and Icelandic names.

Thank you for your suggestions! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

How about one of my faves: [name_m]Tor[/name_m]? :cloud_with_lightning_and_rain:

[name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe [name_m]Oslo[/name_m]? A city rather than person name but as a result widely familiar around the world.

Sorry for any repeats

If you’ve already been through the top lists, I’m not really sure what the suggest. Oscar/Oskar came to mind, but I’m sure you’ve already considered it since it’s very popular. I speak a little Italian but no Finnish so apologies if some of these don’t work.

I was hoping to hear some new names, but I guess I have already seen them all. [name_f]My[/name_f] aunts son is [name_m]Oskari[/name_m], The Finnish version of [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], so that’s not an option. And my husband would like a name with 4 letters.

[name_u]Leo[/name_u] is also already taken. [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] would be [name_m]Ugo[/name_m] since the letter H is not usen. I like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Ugo[/name_m] but my husband doesn’t. [name_m]Bruno[/name_m] is kind of cute because my husband’s grandmum was called [name_f]Bruna[/name_f], but don’t love it. I also like [name_u]Milo[/name_u], but don’t have any strong feelings about it.

How about Miro for a more unusual twist? It’s not Italian or Finnish but works nicely in both.

[name_u]Ari[/name_u]

[name_m]Aro[/name_m]

[name_u]Auri[/name_u]

[name_u]Mika[/name_u]

[name_m]Nilo[/name_m]

[name_m]Rami[/name_m]

[name_m]Viggo[/name_m]

[name_m]Frey[/name_m]

[name_u]Rune[/name_u]

[name_f]Tove[/name_f]

A half [name_u]Finn[/name_u] called [name_u]Finn[/name_u] would be kind of strange. Especially if he one day wants to live in Finland. I like the name, but it doesn’t work with the nationality. [name_m]Aldo[/name_m] [name_m]Lars[/name_m] (extremely Swedish) and [name_m]Oslo[/name_m] would be weird. [name_m]Fiske[/name_m] means fish in swedish?

[name_f]My[/name_f] dad is [name_u]Ari[/name_u].

[name_m]Klaus[/name_m] is the only name of these I like, but husband doesn’t like it. [name_f]My[/name_f] dad is [name_u]Ari[/name_u] and other names are little too long for us… would prefer 4 letters.
