Short List For Baby Anderson

We’re close to welcoming baby [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] in [name_u]December[/name_u], sex unknown.

We have a short list, but wanted to see if there are similar names we’ve overlooked to compare to. [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] are family names…but negotiable. The others just feel a bit safe so maybe that’s where I’m questioning if they will just be too common.

Girls:
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_u]Louise[/name_u]

Boys:
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]
[name_m]Frank[/name_m] [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]
[name_u]Wylie[/name_u] [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]

I like your list! [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u] are very sweet, and don’t feel too common to me. [name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] is sweet and reminds me of ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’.

Your boys’ names are handsome as well. I don’t think they’re too common- where I am, at least, [name_m]Frank[/name_m] and [name_u]Wylie[/name_u] aren’t common names.

Hi there.

Here are my thoughts on your list:

Girls-

Clara [name_u]Marie[/name_u]-I like [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. It’s smart, vintage, sweet, simple & kind. It’s a little bit popular, but not too over done. [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] sounds pretty good. I don’t mind [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u], but [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] would be gorgeous.

Elisabeth [name_u]Marie[/name_u]-I know that this can be polarizing, but I feel like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would just be easier. There are definitely some names that I love spelled a certain way & don’t care for spelled a different way. So, I totally get if you don’t like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Either way, it’s a lovely name. [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_u]Anderson[/name_u] sounds great too. And it has lots of sweet nn options. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Bette[/name_f] & [name_f]Tess[/name_f].

Jean [name_u]Louise[/name_u]-I do appreciate the vintage charm of this combo. I just don’t personally love [name_u]Jean[/name_u], but at least it’s simple & unexpected.

Boys-

Henry [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]-I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] is a little repetitive, but not a deal breaker. [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is so so so popular. I think it’s slightly elevated where I live (midwest U.S.), but it’s high on the charts every where. I do think that the nn [name_m]Hank[/name_m] is adorable, & it’s not used nearly as much as just [name_m]Henry[/name_m].

Frank [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]-I don’t love just [name_m]Frank[/name_m]. It’s different & I can see the appeal, but it’s just a little cranky old man-ish to me.

Wylie [name_u]Bennett[/name_u]-That’s cute. I think that [name_u]Wiley[/name_u] looks much nicer & more masculine though . But either way it’s fun & interesting. Kind of quirky & sporty, but also dashing.

Thank you! We also love the nn [name_m]Hank[/name_m] for [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and had a much loved dog with that name. We’d be fine to use it instead but thought [name_m]Henry[/name_m] gives them a bit of choice on which they’d want to use later…the bummer is how popular [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is, especially with a common ln [name_u]Anderson[/name_u].

Clara [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] are wonderful! I also like [name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] but it’s the same name as [name_u]Jean[/name_u] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] [name_u]Finch[/name_u] in To Kill a Mockingbird so I would be hesitant to use the exact same name (although she’s a great character).

Congratulations! Here are some names I associate with your shortlist:
