Short & Punchy

We love girls names that are short but leave an impression. They’re uncommon but don’t raise too many eyebrows. We like to stick to traditional spellings as well.

We have a fiery little girl named [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]. We’re looking for a name fitting our description for her (possible) sister! Our list so far:

[name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_u]Zuri[/name_u]
[name_u]Scout[/name_u]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]

[name_f]Do[/name_f] any of these jump out to you? Which can you see as little sis to our PJ? Taking all suggestions/criticism/thoughts.

I was already thinking [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] before I read your list. [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is short and adorable and has a similar vibe to [name_u]Piper[/name_u].
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] is my second favorite.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] I personally do not care for, but it goes so well with [name_u]Piper[/name_u].

I think all of your options fit well with [name_u]Piper[/name_u], but my favorites would be [name_u]Scout[/name_u] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f].

[name_u]Zuri[/name_u] definitely jumps out to me as a cool, “punchy” name. I think it and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] fit very well with [name_u]Piper[/name_u].

The ones that don’t fit as well imo are [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]. I like [name_u]Scout[/name_u] for children/nickname purposes but not as a professional name.

The rest are fine but just don’t stand out with [name_u]Piper[/name_u] the way [name_u]Zuri[/name_u] does.

My favorites are [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. I like that there is a bird called a phoebe but it doesn’t feel like an out-there nature name. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Nola[/name_f] work too but are a little more girly. I personally have a hard time seeing [name_u]Scout[/name_u] on an adult. [name_f]Isla[/name_f] feels a little bland to me and not quite “spunky.” Not familiar with [name_u]Zuri[/name_u]. Other ideas are [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Zadie[/name_f], and [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] nn [name_u]Rue[/name_u].

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] & [name_f]Nola[/name_f] are my favs.

[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] jumps out to me as the perfect feisty sister of [name_u]Piper[/name_u]. Short, traditional and makes strong impression!

Others I like and as [name_u]Piper[/name_u]'s sister: [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

Other ideas: [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_u]Tatum[/name_u], [name_f]Tamzin[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Rhea[/name_f].

I’m still rooting for [name_u]Scout[/name_u] but [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is also sweet. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you have any middles in mind?

We’re really stumped on middle names. We either want to use a family name, like we did with our first daughter (all my siblings children also have family middles) or something extremely significant. Nothing has stuck with us yet. We’ve considered:

[name_f]Violet[/name_f]- mine & possibly baby’s birth flower
[name_u]June[/name_u] - my moms birth month
[name_f]Alicia[/name_f] - husbands grandma
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] - family name on both sides but kind of overused imo
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - family name

Those are some really beautiful and classic options to choose from! My mom’s name is [name_u]June[/name_u] and her birth month also. I have the same issue being the youngest with my siblings children using all the family names.

[name_u]Scout[/name_u] [name_f]Nola[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Pheobe[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] if you want something a bit more unique
[name_f]Nola[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_u]Zuri[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]

[name_u]Zuri[/name_u] immediately jumps out at me from your list. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!

[name_u]Piper[/name_u] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] remind me of that TV show with the three witches, forgot the title & not a bad association at all.

If you want more ideas, for short & punchy I really love [name_m]Arrow[/name_m] on a girl!

[name_u]Zuri[/name_u] is my fav from you list! Super spunky and cute. I also like [name_f]Isla[/name_f], but I fear pronunciation and spelling issues.

Have you considered [name_f]Nova[/name_f]? It’s my daughters name and we absolutely love it. She’s bright, adventurous, compassionate, and our shining star. I recommend it. We haven’t met any other [name_f]Nova[/name_f]’s though the name is growing in popularity.

Also, maybe [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_u]Seren[/name_u]? They’re in my signature and I thought they would suit your aesthetic.

Ohhh Piper Joy and [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]

Another vote for [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] (or [name_f]Clio[/name_f])! Also throwing [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] in the mix.

I like [name_u]Piper[/name_u] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u] as a sibset
