I have decided to write shorties based on my daughters favourite Disney Princesses, what their lives would be after the “happily ever after” when they got married and had children. I am trying to come up with unique childrens names for each couple that represent each couple according to their name or meaning behind their name
[name_f]Amita[/name_f] would be cute for a daughter of [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] and Aladdian, I would love a [name_f]Flora[/name_f] for [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] and flynn too.
Sleeping Beauty ([name_f]Aurora[/name_f]/[name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]) + [name_m]Prince[/name_m] ([name_m]Philip[/name_m])
F:
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]. I like it, but it almost feels a little…plain for a princess.
[name_f]Rosalba[/name_f]. I think this one is perfect because alba means dawn and the rose part references her name also being [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
M:
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]. The name’s alright, I hope he uses a bow and arrows
[name_m]Blade[/name_m]. Same with [name_m]Archer[/name_m], it’s alright. It doesn’t scream [name_m]Prince[/name_m] to me, though. And I hope he fights with a sword/dagger. [name_m]Phillip[/name_m] means horse’s friend, so I put down some horse breeds and other horse-y names
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m].
[name_m]Clyde[/name_m] (after the Clydesdale).
Equine. Perhaps with the nickname [name_u]Quin[/name_u]?
[name_u]Ariel[/name_u] + [name_m]Eric[/name_m]
[name_m]Eric[/name_m] means “ever/always ruler” so I looked for some names that meant that, as well as some relating to [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] and her love of music. And some water names.
F:
[name_u]Harper[/name_u].
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u].
[name_u]Harmony[/name_u].
[name_f]Aria[/name_f].
[name_u]Calypso[/name_u].
[name_u]Piper[/name_u].
M: most names that have -ric in them because that’s what means ruler
[name_u]Reed[/name_u].
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u].
[name_u]Wade[/name_u].
[name_f]Snow[/name_f] White + [name_m]Prince[/name_m] ([name_u]Florian[/name_u])
F:
[name_u]Raven[/name_u].
[name_u]Winter[/name_u].
[name_u]Ivory[/name_u].
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u].
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f].
Weiss. [name_m]German[/name_m] for white. (admittedly, I’m getting this from the anime RWBY. The girl Weiss is based on [name_f]Snow[/name_f] White and her name is Weiss Schnee “White [name_f]Snow[/name_f]”.
[name_f]Garnet[/name_f].
[name_f]Amber[/name_f].
[name_f]Amethyst[/name_f]. or basically any gemstone
M:
[name_m]Coal[/name_m].
[name_u]Jet[/name_u].
Malachite. A gemstone.
[name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] + [name_m]Prince[/name_m] (*name could be [name_u]Seth[/name_u] [means dazzle], Evaristus [means well-pleasing, could be changed to something like Evarin.)
F:
[name_f]Ella[/name_f].
[name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f].
Nette. Means clean.
[name_f]Idette[/name_f]. Means hard-working, happy.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]. She was in the Looking Glass, [name_f]Cindy[/name_f]'s shoe was made of glass.
[name_f]Aislin[/name_f]/[name_f]Aisling[/name_f]. Means dream/vision. (from the whole “a dream is a wish your heart makes”.
M:
[name_m]Duke[/name_m]. Not a fan at all of this name
[name_u]Emmett[/name_u]. Means hard-working.
[name_f]Belle[/name_f] + [name_m]Prince[/name_m] ([name_m]Adam[/name_m])
F:
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Pretty, if a little obvious
[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f]. Also means beautiful.
M:
[name_u]Reid[/name_u].
[name_m]Adonis[/name_m]. Means handsome.
[name_m]Damian[/name_m]. Means to tame.
(twins)
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] + [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m]
All of these are Arabic, of course. [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is a jasmine flower and [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m] means nobility of faith. I also looked for names relating to their story.
F:
Azhara. Meaning flower.
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]. Meaning beautiful blossom girl.
[name_f]Scheherazade[/name_f]. can be spelled differently Is the name of the girl who tells the story of a Thousand and One Nights; the story that [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m] appears in!
M:
[name_m]Karim[/name_m]. Means bountiful or noble.
[name_m]Malik[/name_m]. Means king.
[name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] + [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]
Well, [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] is literally [name_m]German[/name_m] for lettuce so I found some nice fruit/veg names. [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] means well born. shrug
F:
[name_f]Fleur[/name_f].
[name_f]Apple[/name_f].
Aubergine.
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
M:
[name_m]Ryder[/name_m] feels a bit weird to me, if only because it was his alias’s last name and I guess that just seems weird to me shrug
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u]. Means birth.
[name_m]Kevin[/name_m]. Mens kind/handsome/good birth.
Girls: [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] - I feel this is a nice honor to [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]'s name, but naming her own daughter after the dawn might make her a little narcissitic, especially when [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_m]Blade[/name_m] have no such connection. Going along with moosicorns, perhaps a flower name could work. [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f], [name_f]Calla[/name_f], [name_f]Lilac[/name_f], or [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] are my suggestions. Some are obviously less princess-y than others. My favorite is [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] as an honor to [name_f]Briar[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
Boys: [name_m]Archer[/name_m] - It’s a strong name and could be the name of a prince. I have no problem with it.
[name_m]Blade[/name_m] - This name is a bit violent for me and seems more like the name of a criminal than a prince. I would suggest [name_m]Maddox[/name_m], [name_m]Colton[/name_m], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], or [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]. My favorite is [name_m]Colton[/name_m] because I think [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_m]Archer[/name_m], and [name_m]Colton[/name_m] would make a lovely sibling set.
[name_u]Ariel[/name_u] + [name_m]Eric[/name_m]
Already have a daughter [name_f]Melody[/name_f]
Girls: [name_u]Harper[/name_u] - I like this name, I have no problem with it. It would go well with [name_f]Melody[/name_f].
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u] - This name isn’t my style, but it would go along with the music theme.
[name_u]Harmony[/name_u] - [name_f]Melody[/name_f] and [name_u]Harmony[/name_u] would be great sisters.
I would also suggest: [name_f]Aria[/name_f], [name_f]Cadence[/name_f], and [name_f]Viola[/name_f].
Boys: Going along with the music theme, I would suggest Ballad, [name_u]Jazz[/name_u], [name_f]Lark[/name_f], and [name_u]Reed[/name_u]. If you don’t want the music theme to continue on with the boys, then I would suggest [name_m]Cove[/name_m], [name_u]Lake[/name_u], [name_u]Nile[/name_u], [name_u]Ocean[/name_u], [name_u]River[/name_u], and [name_u]Storm[/name_u], which all relate to water. My favorites would be [name_u]Jazz[/name_u] or [name_u]River[/name_u].
[name_f]Snow[/name_f] White + [name_m]Prince[/name_m] ([name_u]Florian[/name_u])
Girls: [name_u]Raven[/name_u] - This isn’t a bad name.
[name_u]Winter[/name_u] - This reminds me of [name_u]Winter[/name_u] by [name_f]Marissa[/name_f] [name_m]Meyer[/name_m] wherein the [name_f]Snow[/name_f] White character was named [name_u]Winter[/name_u].
[name_u]Ivory[/name_u] - I think this is very creative!
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] - I like this also.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] - Good name.
Boys: [name_m]Coal[/name_m] - It doesn’t scream prince to me. Perhaps if you spelled it as [name_m]Cole[/name_m]?
[name_u]Jet[/name_u] - This feels like a sly name to me, but it could work as a prince’s name.
I noticed that most of these names are related to color, but [name_u]Florian[/name_u] is a flower name. Maybe you could think about flower names as well. I suggest [name_f]Blossom[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Holly[/name_f], and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] for girls, and for boys [name_f]Aster[/name_f], [name_m]Basil[/name_m], [name_u]Sorrel[/name_u], and [name_f]Cypress[/name_f]. My favorites are [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_m]Basil[/name_m].
[name_f]Cinderella[/name_f] + [name_m]Prince[/name_m] (In Disney’s 2015 movie, the [name_m]Prince[/name_m]'s name was [name_u]Kit[/name_u], which could be a shortening of [name_m]Christopher[/name_m].)
Girls: [name_f]Ella[/name_f] - The only problem I have with this name is that in some versions of the fairytale, [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f]'s actual name was [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I would suggest [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], or [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f].
[name_f]Ashleigh[/name_f] - I’m sorry, I don’t like this spelling. Otherwise, it’s a fine name.
Other suggestions: [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], and [name_f]Sophia[/name_f].
Boys: [name_m]Duke[/name_m] - I don’t understand why a prince would name his son after a lower-status nobleman. I would suggest these (noble without being a nobleman) names - [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Brenden[/name_m] (literally means prince), [name_m]Charles[/name_m], [name_m]Leopold[/name_m], and [name_m]William[/name_m].
Girls: [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - Great name! Other suggestions [name_f]Jolie[/name_f], [name_f]Alana[/name_f], and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].
Boys: [name_u]Reid[/name_u] - This could work. I would also recommend [name_m]Adonis[/name_m], [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m], and [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
(twins)
Girls: [name_f]Akilah[/name_f] (clever/bright), Elham (inspiring), Nawra (blossom), and Zeinab (flower of the desert).
Boys: My first thought was [name_u]Ali[/name_u] because that was the name [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m] used when he disguised himself as a prince. Other names would be [name_m]Yasir[/name_m] (wealthy/prosperous), [name_m]Ishaq[/name_m] (form of [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], meaning laughter), or [name_m]Daoud[/name_m] (form of [name_m]David[/name_m], meaning beloved).
[name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] + [name_m]Eugene[/name_m] (My suggestion for [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] & [name_m]Eugene[/name_m]'s children to be twins - one boy and one girl - as homage to the original fairytales.)
Girls: [name_f]Fleur[/name_f] - Instead of [name_f]Fleur[/name_f], I recommend [name_f]Blume[/name_f]. [name_f]Rapunzel[/name_f] is a [name_m]German[/name_m] fairytale, so I think it would make sense to use the [name_m]German[/name_m] word for flower, rather than the [name_m]French[/name_m]. Other names I recommend are [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Clover[/name_f], [name_f]Daffodil[/name_f], and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u].
Boys: [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] - I think it’s interesting you picked this name. I like it. Other names I would suggest are [name_u]Hayden[/name_u], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Wilhelm[/name_m], [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], and [name_u]Falcon[/name_u].
Chord would be great for [name_u]Ariel[/name_u] and [name_m]Eric[/name_m]'s son!
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is a flower, so their daughter could be [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] or [name_f]Iris[/name_f], and their son could be Bonsai? Or going off of [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m], which means “noble to faith”, you could use something like [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] or [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] or another more exotic Biblical name with a similar meaning.
I agree with @tranquilstars. Chord would be a good name for the son, and, as for the other daughter, you could name her [name_u]Harmony[/name_u] and probably have her learn that you shouldn’t trust people too easily and be careful with who you trust, and, since [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] is a flower, you could have [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]'s daughter be named [name_f]Iris[/name_f]. Plus, since [name_m]Aladdin[/name_m] means “noble faith” you could probably name him [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] nn [name_m]Gabe[/name_m] if that works.
