Short Unique Nature Name for Baby Boy! HELP

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all!

I need some suggestions for a name for our second son. Our first son is named Roen and we’d like to continue with a 4 letter, 2 syllable first name for our next boy. Maybe a 3 syllable middle name?? Our last name is one syllable beginning with F.

We’re looking for uncommon, obscure, rare and unique names preferably plant or celestially related. As you can see we shortened our first son’s name from the traditional “[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]” to Roen (a word with other significant meanings too), so we wouldn’t mind doing something similar for our next boy.

Ideally we’d like 4 letters and 2 syllables, but that’s not so easy I’m finding, so we might have to just keep it at least 2 syllables. Here’s what we have on our list of potentials so far:

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - love the sound, but maybe not so rare
Alder - a tree, but not all that excited about the sound, maybe a good mn?
Evren - [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] this and the meaning (cosmos), Hubby not so sure of the sound for a boy
[name_m]Atlas[/name_m] - maybe preferred as a middle name
Acer - latin name for maple, maybe better as a mn?
Aero - like the sound and meaning

Seems I have a lot of A names…LOL

I’m even open to invented, blended and made-up names too!

Lemme know your thoughts and/or any additions!!!

Thank you!!!

I love [name_m]Leo[/name_m]
I like Alder, Acer and [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]
I don’t really like Evren or Aero
I’ll add… although they don’t all exactly fit your criteria:
[name_m]Cullen[/name_m]
[name_u]Orion[/name_u]
[name_m]Wolfe[/name_m]
[name_u]Zion[/name_u]

[name_m]Leo[/name_m], Alder, and Evren are great.

Maybe…
[name_f]Cascade[/name_f]
[name_u]Denver[/name_u]
[name_m]Farley[/name_m]
[name_u]Canyon[/name_u]
Sitka
[name_m]Pembroke[/name_m]
Risco
[name_u]Zion[/name_u]

I, too, am big on nature names. Something about how simple and breezy they are, but also well-known but unique.
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] and Acer are great.
Aero is okay.
Not sure on Evren for a boy either, but I also really like the meaning. Although, you will be calling him by his name and not by the name meaning.

A lot of these don’t fit your criteria but I feel like these would be a good fit with Roen…

Here were some nature names on my old lists:
[name_f]Lark[/name_f] - Although more common as a feminine name, it seems to be strong enough for a male as well in my opinion.
[name_u]Finch[/name_u] - What is better than a nature name that also pays tribute to a famous, well-liked literature character?
[name_m]Moss[/name_m] - Honestly much cooler than [name_m]Ross[/name_m] in my opinion.
[name_u]Marsh[/name_u] - Equally good for a boy or girl. Sensitive but grounded (excuse my terrible pun).
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u] - Means the sea or water. Would have used middle name [name_u]Ash[/name_u] with it.
[name_u]Ash[/name_u] - It´s kinda self-explanatory. Maybe [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] or [name_m]Asher[/name_m] as well?
[name_m]Rocky[/name_m] - Husband vetoed this one. One of the ones that I actually loved.
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u] - Although more commonly used for girls, I really like it for a boy as well. [name_u]Aspen[/name_u] is a type of tree and means ¨One who is like mother earth¨
[name_u]Kai[/name_u] - Means ¨ocean¨ in Hawaiian. If I were to have another boy (which is not at all planned), this would probably be his name.
[name_u]Canyon[/name_u] - Means rocky hill. It’s nice and unique.
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - If you’re into traditional names, it means nature loving. Maybe [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] or [name_u]Olly[/name_u] for short?

Other nature names:
[name_u]Orion[/name_u] - ¨rising in the sky¨. Also has a whole story behind it. It´s an awesome name with a complex history.
[name_m]Strom[/name_m] - ¨one who loves water¨. If you are looking for a strong, unique twist on [name_u]Storm[/name_u].
[name_u]Storm[/name_u]
[name_u]West[/name_u]
[name_m]Abner[/name_m] - ¨father of light¨
[name_m]Kiran[/name_m] - ¨ray of light¨
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] - If you’re into science as well as nature, this is a good name. means ¨light¨.
[name_m]Luken[/name_m] - Variant of [name_m]Lucian[/name_m]
[name_u]Van[/name_u] - means ¨cloud¨
[name_u]Neil[/name_u] - Also means ¨cloud¨. Also could pay homage to [name_u]Neil[/name_u] [name_m]Armstrong[/name_m] is you’re into space or science.
[name_u]Rai[/name_u] - ¨storm¨.
[name_u]Gale[/name_u] - A type of sea storm.
[name_u]Sonny[/name_u]

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helped!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Leo[/name_m]! However, it does seem a bit too popular for you and your partner’s tastes.
Alder is okay, as is [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], but Acer just reminds me of the computer brand and just doesn’t strike me as a good first name. Maybe as a middle. Aero is the same - not as a first, but maybe as a middle.
Evren is fine.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Dion[/name_m]? It means ‘child of heaven and earth’ apparently, which is a beautiful meaning, and is four letters and two syllables.
I quite like [name_u]Rory[/name_u], but it seems a bit too popular for your tastes. So does [name_u]Seth[/name_u].

Three syllable middle name… [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]? [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]? [name_m]Josiah[/name_m]? If you want a rare middle name as well, maybe [name_m]Javier[/name_m]?

I like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] Alder as a combo. I like Aero too, but it reminds me a bit of Aeropostale. I’ve never heard Evren before but it sounds really cool out loud!

I love [name_u]Ren[/name_u] (maybe [name_m]Renn[/name_m]?) for you. It can be a nickname for [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u], derived from [name_f]Laurel[/name_f] trees.[QUOTE][/QUOTE]

Thanks guys! [name_m]Leo[/name_m] seems to be very well liked, according to the SSA its been gaining popularity steadily over the last decade or so. I don’t know any [name_m]Leo[/name_m]'s personally, but we’re more likely to run into one in the coming years! Maybe thats ok… [name_m]Just[/name_m] something we need to be fine with. I guess it’s not as common as others!!

You all have some great suggestions! Roen is actually my son’s middle name, with his first name as [name_m]Tom[/name_m]ás (per a family tradition over the last 13 generations), so it would be cool to keep the mn as the tree, I’m leaning more towards Alder. I do like the name [name_u]Linden[/name_u] too, unfortunately I know a couple people with this name, both girls.

The name [name_m]Moss[/name_m] is very intriguing to me, I would [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] to use it, but I’m not sure it sounds all that great with our single syllable last name. [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] is also on out list!!

I’m in love with [name_m]Atlas[/name_m] but I think it’s just a GP for me! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_m]Elwood[/name_m], [name_u]Cedar[/name_u], or [name_m]Birch[/name_m]?

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_m]Nial[/name_m] (2 syllables, 4 letters–also spelled [name_u]Niall[/name_u])? I think it’s just as cool as [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (a name I love), but not as common.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Moss[/name_m] sounds really nice! [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] or [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Moss[/name_m] could work too if your not sure about [name_m]Moss[/name_m] as a first

I love [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], Aero and Acer! And of course [name_m]Leo[/name_m], the name of my little nephew
