[name]Hi[/name] everyone! I’m a newbie, and this is my first post, so please excuse me if I make some newbie mistakes.
To introduce myself a little first, I live in the Northwest United States with my husband and my furbaby puppy [name]Gideon[/name]. We are TTC our first baby and I’m a bit of a crazy planner and name lover anyway, so of course I’m already making out name lists.
This leads me to my question for you all… one of my favorite boy names is [name]Reuben[/name]. I think its underused and I love it! However, my first name is [name]Leah[/name], and in the Bible, [name]Leah[/name]'s first son was [name]Reuben[/name]. Would this be weird to you? Would you even notice the connection if you met us on the street? Would this deter you from using the name, or would you go for it anyway?
I know this is way cart before the horse, but I wanted an outside, unbiased opinion. Thanks!!
I shouldn’t think it matters too much. The more important question is: does [name]Reuben[/name] flow well with your surname? Your son will only be in your house for a small part of his life so the Biblical connection between [name]Leah[/name] and [name]Reuben[/name] shouldn’t be a deal-breaker. If you love it, go ahead and choose it!
I wouldn’t notice and I don’t think too many other people would either. Anyway, if they did notice, it most likely wouldn’t be a negative connection so I say go ahead and use it!
I thought of the drink (I feel like there’s a drink) before the Biblical connection. I really don’t think it’d be an issue. If you and your husband love it, then go for it.
I’m not religious so I wouldn’t have noticed. I don’t think many people would notice anyway. [name]Reuben[/name] is a great boys name. If you like it, go for it.
