Should I change the name?

So basically I’m in the midst of changing my name and just realized (literally a few minutes ago) that one of the middle names I’ve decided for myself is the same name as one of the silblings’ of a protagonist of mine in one of my stories. Now I’m wondering if I should change my name or her’s? The name is [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] btw.

I honestly can’t imagine her name being different. She originally had a different name, that I can’t remember anymore, but this name just suits her imo as does her nickname, [name_m]Seraph[/name_m]. Also I can’t imagine a name that would take the spot of [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] for me either (I’m having enough trouble with deciding on a first name). The thing is I have no idea if I’m ever going to publish this story, or even become a published writer and if even if I did so would I ever include [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] in my pen name.

So what do you guys think? Should I change one of our names? Or should I just keep both?

I think you could keep both. One of the most famous stories in the world, A [name_f]Divine[/name_f] Comedy, was basically one big self insert story. He even used the real name of the girl he fancied, [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], in the story. [name_f]Stephenie[/name_f] [name_m]Meyer[/name_m], writer of Twilight, even used the names of her siblings as the names of some of the characters in her story. Intentional or coincidentally, it probably happens more often than you think, so I don’t think it would be too much of an issue to keep both names

If you like the name, [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], you should keep it, and maybe you can keep yours, too if you like it. If not, you can change it.

Thanks you so much!!! I was really worried there for a moment that I might have to change one of them

sure thing, @nyxie. I like helping out.
