I think you need to find a compromise. You don’t seem to like the name at all, and I don’t think it’s fair for you to have to choose it. However, your husband seems to love [name]Max[/name] [name]David[/name], and I think it’s important that both parents like the name. So perhaps you do [name]Henry[/name] [name]Max[/name] or [name]David[/name] [name]Henry[/name] or something like that. I think it’s worth a little more time so you won’t regret it later.
I agree with the compromise. [name]Max[/name] sounds great with [name]Leo[/name], fits the bill and does not sound at all like a dog name. I actually know as many [name]Leos[/name] as [name]Max[/name] kids so I think they are equal (I am in NY area).
However, I hear you about the [name]David[/name] part. But going to the great-grandfather route there have to be more to choose from that don’t have such a “past”. There are 8 between you (7 since one was used).
Or compromise with [name]Max[/name] [name]Henry[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] [name]Max[/name]. Make it [name]Maxwell[/name] if you want to syllables.
All great names. Good luck!
I do not think you should use a name if you do not love it, especially if it’s the whole name you’re not sure about. However usually the significance of family names is to represent a family member who held special meaning to you, so I don’t think you should use the chance to compromise on name to research how many Henrys were in your families that you didn’t even know about. If you want to use [name]Henry[/name] because you love it, then do it! [name]Henry[/name] [name]Max[/name], [name]Henry[/name] [name]David[/name], [name]Henry[/name] ____ (some other name) are great. But I would use it for the reason that you love it and choose the other name to represent family.
