Bayou…I love it as a name and stuff but is it too much?
I wouldn’t say it’s too much - it seems to have an interesting and special history. I’m not sure I would go for it myself just because of the “by you”, “written by you” etc teasing potential, but if it’s a meaningful name for you then I can’t see why it couldn’t be a good first name. It’s not too much per se, it’s more that it could be tricky with pronunciation and annoying teasing etc.
[name_u]Bayou[/name_u] is gentle and interesting, earthy and cool. I think it would be a great middle but it could be a cool first too
It does have a nice sound but I have a hard time disconnecting the word from alligators and snapping turtles. Maybe it depends on where you live? For me it would only work in the middle spot.
It’s an interesting name. For me personally I think it would be too bold for my taste in the first name spot .
[name_u]Bayou[/name_u] is bold, earthy and has a cool mysticism to him. I think it depends how you are if your a creative artsy type then I think the name would work but if your more conservative then maybe a cool middle name paired with a classic like [name_u]James[/name_u].
Definitely a middle name more than a first. I personally don’t like the sound of it, but I think the fact that it is a very specific word meaning swamp also isn’t the best connection. However, I do think it could make a great name for a pet or could be a middle name, especially if you’re from somewhere with bayous and want to remember it
Middle name! I worry that it may be mispronounced as “bay-oo”
I don’t think it’s too much as a first name at all, there could be pronunciation issues though.
