Two weeks until baby is here… and now we are thinking about using the name [name_u]Everett[/name_u]. We love the nickname possibilities of [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] or [name_u]Ever[/name_u] and that it has a preppy vibe overall.
Our question is, should we use this name if we live near a city named [name_u]Everett[/name_u] that is very trashy? Should the fact that this city is well known and within 20 minutes of our house ruin the name [name_u]Everett[/name_u]? Or, does it not really matter?

I really like this name! I had never thought of the nn [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], but it’s cute/masculine/sporty all at once! I don’t think the town should prevent you from naming your boy [name_u]Everett[/name_u], but also be prepared for ppl to ask and suspect that’s where you came up with the name. We used to live near a town called [name_f]Ava[/name_f] but it didn’t seem to affect parents from naming their daughters that, so I think you’re ok. Also, you never know-you may not always live where you’re living now. And if you do continue to raise your family where you are now, there’s no guarantee that he won’t live somewhere else when he’s older where no one has heard of the town [name_u]Everett[/name_u].
